| What accounts for the price difference in puppies? Do you have pictures of the parents and puppies? Are the parents registered with the AKC?

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I priced them according to size and markings. The $1000.00 is the largest with more muted markings. He will probably look more like his mom, she looked quite similar to him as a puppy. I can't see him staying Black and Chestnut. He is the sweetest though, maybe I should have priced according to sweetness. What do you think? The second male $1100.00 is smaller with more distinked black and chestnut very cute and cuddly. The $1200.00 is a female which are always higher priced than males and has very fine markings will quite possably stay the Fathers coloring which is harder to find and priced higher. And last of all is my little t-cup. She is priced higher because she is a t-cup and will more than likely stay that way. She is very dainty. I tried to download some pictures but it would not except them. If you would like pics please email me. Thanks for your Inquirey, Key2Yorkies ~ Jan |

| I'm sorry, I cannot justify spending that much on an APRI registered dog. I got my AKC male in Chicago for less than half that price as a puppy. Best of luck finding them homes. - Kristy

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Kristy, It is all a matter of preference. I know of many people that will not buy AKC dogs. I have heard many horror stories about AKC dogs. They are kind of like the phone company that needed to branch out because they got to Big for their Britches. I am not here to Knock them or the phone company. In fact my husband has worked for them since they were MA BELL. Who remembers that? As far as the dogs go I have Purebred registration that goes back atleast 4 generations and I'm sure if I wanted to could go back even further. I'm sure you love your AKC yorkie as I love my APRI yorkies. I have to wonder how you obtained a pure bred yorkie for the bargain basement price of $500.00. Was it some time ago? or was it an older dog? or very large? Most of all, Do you have the family linage? and is it free from genetic defect? I may be high but I am a pet owner first and my dogs are members of my family. I have a Mr. & MRS. AUGGIE DOGGIE, NOT A PUPPY MILL,or PET SHOP! PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ UP ON THE PROBLEMS PEOPLE WERE HAVING WITH AKC and WHY THEY STARTED ALTERATIVES SUCH AS APRI. YOU MIGHT BE PLEASENTLY SURPRISED WITH APRI !!!! Regards, KEY2YORKIES |

| I hope you find your puppies loving forever homes. Please just know that a lot of members here on YT are really passionate about yorkies and we don't really like people selling so call "teacups" for really outrageous prices, and I think that's how it came across to Kristy because of the fluctuation in price ranges and you mentioning t-cups. I do hope you find loving homes for your babies, they sound precious |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | They are precious to me and I am also quite passionate when it comes to my babies. I understand your concern about the over used & misused term of t-cup. I am also leary of people who down breed the size of the dog. I only used that term with the littlest one, because she is very small and I thought people would understand that word more than tiny or very little, etc. She was the last one born and I think she was just happy staying in her MaMa because the other 3 were born in an hours time and she decided to wait another two hours to come into this harsh world with people that don't think her APRI bloodline is good enough. Even though all of her ancestors originated with AKC. But some smart people that weren't afraid to stand up to the bureaucracy of it all decided to change things. I'm sure to the dismay of a few people with their noses up in the air also, Like... well I won't stoop to that level, thank you very much! I will try to change the word to please all of you and I do understand. My pricing may seem high to somebody that hasn't bought a Yorkie in 5 yrs. but like everything else, Prices do Go Up! I work very hard for these puppies every day. I am now weening them onto a special puppy formula that I mix up for them 4 times a day, not to mention all of the other tasks. My puppies are never alone my husband and I arrange our schedules according to our babies needs not our own. YES ,WE ARE PASSIONATE !! I base my pricing on what I have seen in pet shops in my area and took off another $500.00 to $800.00. I thought that was quite fair. I also called a few breeders and my prices are lower than most of theirs. Especially for the little female. Most of them wanted $1800.00 and up. Prices remain the same especially on the females. If anybody wants a male puppy and would like to make an offer I will take into consideration all offers. I understand you sticking up for your friend but I must admit I did take offence to her thinking her dog is better than mine. Funny thing just happened, Something in my head just played back that old song from Kennel Ration that went something like this... " MY DOG IS BETTER THAN YOUR DOG, MY DOG IS BETTER THAN YOURS, MY DOG IS BETTER CAUSE HE EATS KENNEL RATION, MY DOG IS BETTER THAN YOURS " Does anybody remember that one or am I showing my age here? Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would love to see pictures. I bought Cali last year in the Chicago area for 1500.00 and she is not AKC. I'm not even sure what I could have registered her as since 1. I lost the form and 2 . I didn't care since she was not a show dog. I think more important to me is the quality of the breeder and the health guarantee. I leatned so much after joining YT that I know now how to buy my next puppy. I think everyone has a price range that they are comforable with. JMO

| Yep, Stewie is a bargain basement Yorkie. Great terminology. His sisters were 600 and he was 475. He's a year and a half old. I got him last February. I don't think you should judge my Yorkie before you've seen or met him. He is 8lbs now full grown, he has a beautiful silky coat and the sweetest temperment. He is also smart as hell and very obedient. Yes, I have his pedigree, I have a guarantee on his health, etc. Anything else a decent breeder would offer. In response to your other comment, no, I am not impressed with the American Pet Registry. I believe it is an outlet for those who were suspended from the AKC, or are too cheap to register w/ the AKC. Puppymills use it more than anyone else. I am not calling you a puppymill, so please don't interpret it that way. I would just only buy an AKC registered dog because 4 generations of "sure they're purebred" isn't enough for me - especially if I am paying over a grand. An old friend of mine got a 3lb full grown female AKC registered Yorkie from a show breeder from the breeders mansion in Lemont for 950 in September 2005. I don't think that you should price your puppies based on what you've seen at the Petland as prices. I am not arguing about your prices, because frankly, I don't care. but I think you should realize that there are people out there who don't breed their two pets and overcharge for their Yorkies, so you shouldn't call my Yorkie or anyone else who offers loveable pets at reasonable prices a "bargain basement". Thanks Khristine, that is exactly what I meant. I'm goign to go take my bargain basement Yorkie for a walk now!

I consider myself to be a very good Pet owner first - breeder second because for one these are not just puppies to make me money (even though every penney helps) but they are like my babies, along with their Mom & Dad ofcourse. I hand feed them puppy formula 4 times a day because Mom is weening them and I am starting to add Babydog food by Canin into their diet slowly. This is the food that the vet recommends. They have their own room which used to be our florida room. I do not use cages but give them free rain of the entire room with 2 big boxes where they have toys in one and a cozy bed in the other. Now that the weather is getting warmer I take them outside and let them run around on my two acres of land. They are going to be getting their 1st shots soon and have already had one worming and ofcourse their dew claws and tails clipped. My own 4 adult kids make fun of my husband and I. They say "how come we never got all that attention when we were little?" I guess they just forgot. I'm going to try to add these pictures one more time for you. Note: I tried to download pics but it wouldnt allow it stating that my file was 1.37 MB and the max is 200 KB. Sorry I'm not sure what else to do. I'm not the most computer savvy person in the world if you know what I mean. KEY2 Yorkies

Ladies Please!, I don't want to fight with you! all I did was post my puppies for sale. I didn't know I would encounter such harsh comments that provoked a side of me that made me say something I really don't mean. I'm sure your yorkie is quite lovely. I also have another yorkie that is my bargain basement pup. I bought her from a lady that only breeds chestnut/black color yorkies. She is 11 months old and is mostly silver and gold very, very light not the colors this very nice lady exspected for her breeding purposes. I got her for $400.00 now that was a steal a definite Bargain Basement price! Her name is Jazzi I've had her for 2 weeks now and she's great! One problem though she likes to chew my sons $10.00 sports socks. Also I'm not sure I like her name though, so instead of harping on AKC and APRI lets call a truce and let me know if you like my bargain basement babies name or if you think I should change it, Maybe something that sounds similar? keep in mind she is already 11 month old . The lady never sent in the paper work so I can change her name. But she is A.P.R.I., so I hope you will still help me with a name. Just joking, tee-hee ! PEACE Key2Yorkies
