| What suprised me is all the back and forth about the price. Maybe because I'm in Southern California the pricing looked low to me. I guess the prices are different depending on where you live. If I could find a healthy pure bred Yorkie for under $600 I'd have more. I paid $800 for Jazzie (yes I have a Jazzie - short for Jasmine) in 1998 at a pet store. I didn't know about puppy mills at the time either. She is AKC registered and has champion blood in her (2 champs) according to her petigree. She is healthy and happy and brilliant! Then we got Jewel from a private breeder for $1400 in 2003. She has no champions in her bloodline and now has necrotizing enchephelitis. So I guess I don't really have a point at all... Just didn't understand what all the fuss was about. I'm happy you have potential homes for your babies.

| I'm in Canada and the prices aren't high at all compared to what we see up here. I find them to be quite reasonable. As far as papers go, I'm not a big believer in them. I'm a HUGE believer in reputable breeders, though, who ensure healthy pups. That is the most important thing, unless one is showing or breeding their dogs (then the papers are necessary). Topher's breeder gives a two year guarantee against health problems and will pay ALL vet bills pertaining to a congenital problem. That to me is worth more than any registry. His health is excellent, though, so I'm sure we won't be having to use the guarantee.Good luck with finding wonderful homes for your little ones! I'm sure you won't have any problems at all and they'll be swept up quickly! Welcome to YT! |

| The prices don't seem high to me either because I've seen Yorkies for A LOT more by me in NY. I paid $1,000 for my Maltese (male), $1,200 for my first Yorkie (female) and $1,600 for my second Yorkie (female). I'd love to see pictures. I hope you figure out how to post them. ![]() PS - I just want to add that I don't think it's right to call someone's beloved pet a "bargain basement" Yorkie. Just me 2 cents.

Thank You Tophersmom, I have found homes for the girls already! they went quick! I have to be more aggressive with my 2 little boys now so I am considering all reasonable offers. Boys always seem harder to place for some reason. Poor little guys. By the way I was just looking over the 4 generation bloodline and I see that the puppies have all come from AKC stock and there is an " AKC Champion " on the mothers side. Does anybody know if I can have them duo registered with AKC also then. Maybe I'll look into that since there seems to be such strong opinions on it. I had no idea people cared so much I sort of feel like you do . I just want them to be loved and I am not a Prejudice (for lack of a better word ) person in any sense. Whether it be with Dogs or People ! Oh by the way, That guarantee your breeder offers is fantastic, Good Job ! Key2Yorkies Last edited by Key2Yorkies; 05-17-2006 at 08:06 AM.

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | michiko , All I can say in my defense is that she hurt my feelings first, and I guess I don't react well when somebody makes a negative statement about MY puppies. I guess it was childish but They are like my babies and I was highly offended . I did apologize and admitted I also had just bought an 11 month old Yorkie at bargain basement prices. I didn't ask for her comments about my puppies. I was just posting them for sale. I guess I was naive to think that there wouldn't be any negative feedback on the price but I didn't expect to hear it about their bloodline !! I was so happy and proud of my little puppies and wanted to share it with everybody here, and then Chrissy really shot me down, it was like a stab in the heart! She made me feel as if my sweet little Puppies were not good enough . I felt her negative comments were quite intrusive, rude and hurtful. SO I reacted in a rude and hurtful way. Sorry I shouldn't have it was wrong . But APRI Yorkies and owners do have feelings to you know! About the t-cup thing. I know there is no such thing as t-cups I just used it to describe my very tiny female because I thought it would be terminology that everyone understood. I didn't realize how politically incorrect it was. I sure do now and will not use it again. You learn something new every day if your lucky! I apologize to you and everybody else if it offended you in any way. About my babies, I always start out fairly high and as time goes on and I still have one or two of them I may choose to lower the price. My two girls have sold this week at the price I was asking actually I got $1300.00 for the one I have listed here for $1200.00! and $1500.00 for the shall we say tiny girl. They will probably go to their new forever homes next week. I love to see the happy faces of the new parents. It makes all the hard work worth it all! I have two boys left now. They are 8 weeks old and worth every penny I am asking. But I have decided to take all offers on them because I want to go spend some time with my Grandbabies this summer and it will be kind of hard to do unless the puppies are placed. My husband can handle the older dogs but he is in ill health and the puppies are a little to much for him. So if anybody is interested including Chrissy!! These two are not the dreaded 4 letter word ( T-cup ) they are probably going to be more like their Mom- Roxy. So if anybody is interested ...... IN THE BEGINNING OF THIS FORUM I HAVE PUPPIES FOR SALE......UPDATE.... I HAVE TWO 8 WEEK OLD MALE YORKIE PUPPIES THAT I AM WILLING TO CONSIDER ALL REASONABLE OFFERS ON IF YOU KNOW OF ANYBODY INTERESTED, PLEASE LET ME KNOW !!!!..... KEY2YORKIES ~ JAN |

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Sorry J Carlson 2004! I apoligized to her and own a bargain basement dog myself. I was offended and hurt! I had a bad reaction to something I felt she should have not commented on unless she was considering buying one of them,Which she wasn't . She just wanted to add her 2 CENTS and in my oppinion it was cruel and heartless. So I felt RIGHT BACK AT YA ! which was probably not the best way to handle it. Hind sight being 20/20. I love my puppies and I just wanted to find good forever homes for my babies and I feel if you pay a little more you won't toss them aside as easy. I worked at the ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGE for 5 years and saw too many dogs that became " Throw Away Dogs " and I pray every day, it will never happen to any of my sweet little Puppies. Key2Yorkies |

| Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | I am surprised this post hasn't been locked, seems this going back and forth with words has been going on toooo long. I gotta figure out how to delete to keep from gettiing posts on this forum on this subject. There is so much good to this site and unkind words to one another just don't seem to be fitting. Sorry but I had to put my HO here. Wishing you all a good day and Baby Blessing sends puppy kisses to each of you, she don't care whether she is AKC, APRI or whatever she just loves being the great breed of being a yorkie and having the love of her mommie and daddie in her forever home in this lifetime. (The HO means honest opinion.) Have a nice day everyone. Patti |

| I would have been potentially interested in a female of hers if she justified her prices more soundly. Simple as that. I am aware of all the bad breeders in my area and was asking her what accounts for the price difference in them. There are a lot of people around here throwing two dogs together. If anyone has a problem with the questions I asked, PM me. I'd happily pay upwards of that price if I were getting a quality dog with a solid history in its lines without soft excuses. Also, I think it is really low-class that she called my Stewart a bargain basement Yorkie. And that she assumed that I didn't get a health guarantee or that my breeder was bad just because he charged less than 1/4 of the price of these APRI registered Yorkies. So, all in all, have a great day. I'm sure all the south suburban people were happy to find puppies cheaper than the Petland in Tinley Park. Great that you have people bidding on your precious dogs. I'd be so proud of that.

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | StewiesMom, Thanks for the final comment and your realization that my puppies are precious to me. I am very happy people bought my 2 little girls Prettybit as I called her sold for $1300.00 to a nice Doctor and his fiance from Michigan. And Littlebit my tiny girl (no more T-cup out of my mouth) sold for $1500.00 to a CPA from Lincoln Park. The daughter of a life long friend of mine. As I mentioned earlier, I was going over my 4 generation heritage and it shows that there is AKC Championship bloodline in the Mom of my APRI puppies. Do you know if I can get Duo Registration on the puppies because of this fact? You seem to be fairly informed on AKC , and I guess Duo registration could only make them more desirable. So if you have any knowledge of this please get back to me. I probably was being a bit low class, but I wanted you to feel the way you made me feel. I was wrong.Again Sorry. Key2Yorkies |

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I want to Thank all of you that had kind comments and support for me and my APRI Furbabies. I am happy to say all 4 of my little furbabies have found very good forever homes. One very little girl moved to Downtown Chicago to Lincoln Park and her new Mommy bought her a Coach Collar! My other little girl moved to Michigan and is the furbaby of a Doctor and his wife now. My little boy went to a couple that had purchased his older brother 2 years ago for Grandma in Ohio. Last but not least was my chubby little guy who found a new home (Actually 3 homes). He has a home in Park Ridge Illinois (where Hillary Clinton grew up). a Snowbird home in Naples Florida and a Summer home on the lake in New Buffalo Michigan. Great People! Great New Life! He was the one I had around the longest and I fell in love with him. Cutest, sweetest chubbiest little Puppy I have ever had in my life. It was so hard to let him go! But I prayed that all of my furbabies would find wonderful homes and I believe they all have. Again Thanks to all that supported my efforts! It is not easy to let four beautiful puppies go, no matter how much you sell them for! I do a lot of kneeling when I'm getting them ready for life outside their Mommy & Daddy's Place. Most of the Kneeling was to clean up Piddle! But I'm sure you all know what the other Kneeling was for!!!!! Key2Yorkies |

Key2, you are saying it shouldn't matter if a dog is AKC or APRI, but when it comes to a dogs size and birth time it does matter? So what, this dog is more "valuable" because it's a "teacup"?

| Key2yorkies to answer your question earlier I believe that APRI will accept Akc but Akc will not accept APRI. Glad your babies all found homes!!! I think the price all depends on where you live, I know here in some places the price you were asking would be considered cheap whereas other places it would be considered expensive, location has a big influence on what the price could be. The only problem I have with APRI registration is that it gives people a way to get around registering pups, alot of people who buy a pup from a breeder are told to spay and neuter the pup and not to breed him and would not be able to register a litter under akc because of this. So what do they do, they go to other registries like APRI so they can breed the pup and register the litter under them. If a breeder does not want the pup to be bred it should not, and it should be spayed/neuterd period. But this registry makes it possible for people to do this. Other than that I have no problem with the registry, I just wish they would eliminate this so people could not register pups from parents that have limited registration, if they did this I am sure alot of people would have less negative feelings about them. Not arguing, just stating my opinion.

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm not sure what you meant by the time of birth being of any value, I think you may have misunderstood me. I was just saying that the smallest one waited longer to be born. She was the 4th furbaby . It's quite strange because I said a prayer that they wouldn't be born until all of them were ready for birth. So I guess she just needed a bit longer in Roxy's oven. To me all of my furbabies are worth a million bucks! but unfortunately I have to put a price on their heads. In answer to your question... My biggest boy was Priceless to me and I wanted to keep him. As it turns out the lovely couple from Park Ridge felt the same about him as I did. You see they had a 12 lb. Yorkie named Rudy who passed away 2 years ago and theyv'e been looking for a chubbabubba ever since. So to them, and me he is worth more than, " All The Tea In China " and paid a very good price for him. You see I learned a lot from these people and their story of Rudy. I know that, The Lord Works In Mysterious Ways and they came to my home for a reason and it was more than a Puppy! and as I always say, You Live and You Learn! if You're Lucky!
