| Looking for Biewer puppy Hi everyone, I am hoping someone can suggest or refer me to legitimate breeder of Beiwers? I am searching for a female puppy and half the sites I come across are either outdated or very confusing with half the information missing. I am also concerned about shipping but I dont see any other way to get the pup to me in Oregon. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! DW |

| Hello, You might find this website very useful. All of the breeders that I contacted on this website were very responsible. Biewer Breeders in America - Biewer Breed Club Of America |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Hi and welcome to YT. Make sure the breeder uses a courier to bring the pup. My Galen, a Biewer, was brought by courier. They bring the pup on the plane and stay with them. Taking care of them and hand deliver them to you. I sent you also a pm

| Hi everyone, and thanks so much for the replies, both private and public. I think I may have to settle for a regular Yorkie because of the cost. The Biewers and Parti's are too pricey, even with 'pet' prices. And I find it difficult to even entertain the idea of filling out questionnaires, getting approved, and sending $2500 to someone who cant or doesn't update their website and at least have it look like its secure and current. One site will have a litter but any date is from 2011. Or there will be a 2014 date but no prices. It's getting tiring contacting breeders for prices only to find I cant afford them. And the male/female thing seems to be such a big issue nowadays. I dont care about markings or any of the other stigmas of a male dog, and I dont want to breed a female. I want a female because I am the only female in my house of males, both human and animal, and I know a female and I will bond better than another male. I need pink! My frustration is showing I know, sorry. My little girl Yorkie passed away last June, she was 16, and with school back in session its time to fill my house and my heart again, and the search is much more difficult and expensive than it was 16 years ago. But I'll keep trying. I know she's out there. Thanks again for all the leads and kinds words!! |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | A lot of reputable breeders do not post their litters or with prices. It is not about the cost of the pup it is the person that wants the pup. They want to know the person that is inquiring about their pups. They only breed only a few times. They are underfoot in their homes. They are family. Also some breeders post only after the pups are 8 weeks. You fill out an application and talk to the breeder. They send you pictures. If you decide you want one of the pups. You give them a deposit. They send you weekly pictures and videos. And they keep you updated how they are doing. I have a ton of pictures of Galen taken by the breeder. . . from the first day born to right before he left to come to me. He is the most sweetest guy. He is not afraid of anything including the shop vac lol . . .and I did not spend $2500 for him . . . I was given that price for a yorkie I saw before I started looking for a Biewer. I do not have any issue with marking. He was neutered at 8 months. I am in a house full of males and I wanted a male. I find the males are sweeter and more loving.

| Biewer? I hear you, Biewers are more expensive in general than Yorkies. I know that filling out questionnaires is a big pain, but most quality breeders or rescues will do this to ensure the right fit for their dogs. Any public seller of a pup who does not require a questionnaire is probably a BYB or someone who is just in it for the money. Quality Biewer breeders I have seen do have very good, updated, and informative web sites, but I agree prices are mainly discussed privately. They do not breed often and one may have to wait for a litter. I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Yorkie and pray that soon you will find another to love. |

| You don't have to spend $2500 for a Biewer. I researched Biewers, and most reputable breeders won't charge this much for a pet biewer unless you want a show quality pup. Males are typically cheaper than females, so keep this in mind. How far would you be willing to drive for your new pup? I see that you are in Oregon. That website that I provided has links to breeders in Washington. I spoke with both of them and their prices are very reasonable for a pet Biewer. They might be within reasonable driving distance for you. I highly encourage you to contact these breeders directly and ask questions. My main advice when contacting any breeder, make sure to ask as many questions as possible about health testing. You don't need a perfect looking dog (show quality dog) as a pet, but you need very healthy dog! Trust me, getting a pup from a reputable breeder will be much cheaper in the long run (I currently own a dog from backyard breeder and would not recommend anyone to go this route as some of my vet bills have been huge and my dog just got diagnosed with luxating patella at age of 2 ) |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Hi Welcome to YT . I am a Biewer breeder in S. California. I have on occasion flown with the puppy to meet new owners face to face. If it is less expensive to use a courier, then we will go that route. I agree that completing applications can be a pain. But I learn a lot about a potential buyer--one of which is that they will listen to what I'm asking of them. I have sold girl pet puppies for $1500 but I get to choose the puppy. Many of my buyers are repeat customers or referrals from then. I like my buyers to stay in touch with me and many I have become close friends. If you stay on YT you will see that we always tell buyers to buy the breeder first. Develop a relationship and you will find yourself with your puppy in a good time. I welcome potential buyers to my home to meet the parents and puppies who are all underfoot because this is their home. |
