You don't have to spend $2500 for a Biewer. I researched Biewers, and most reputable breeders won't charge this much for a pet biewer unless you want a show quality pup. Males are typically cheaper than females, so keep this in mind.
How far would you be willing to drive for your new pup?
I see that you are in Oregon. That website that I provided has links to breeders in Washington. I spoke with both of them and their prices are very reasonable for a pet Biewer. They might be within reasonable driving distance for you. I highly encourage you to contact these breeders directly and ask questions. My main advice when contacting any breeder, make sure to ask as many questions as possible about health testing. You don't need a perfect looking dog (show quality dog) as a pet, but you need very healthy dog! Trust me, getting a pup from a reputable breeder will be much cheaper in the long run (I currently own a dog from backyard breeder and would not recommend anyone to go this route as some of my vet bills have been huge and my dog just got diagnosed with luxating patella at age of 2 )
