Pet price varies widely as you might know. Your first concern as I'm sure it is , is that you have assured yourself that this puppy is healthy, and that the pup will be going to folks who will love and care for the rest of his life.

Without Ch's in his line, without health checks, without obedience titles, without TT, without because I don't know if you have any of this, this little one should only be placed in a home that understands "all" of the risks they are undertaking. By placed I mean for "free". The potential owners of this little one undertake a potentially huge responsibility to care and to keep well.

Sir and Dam go into the Vet 2 times a year for thier , teeth ,health checks,blood tests , worms , vaccinations ..I am sorry I do not know the Medical Term words that u are wanting ..No , I do not feel that he should be placed for free ...If thats the case I will keep him ...I totally feel like I am being bashed for having a small puppy ..I wish he was alot bigger , But hes not and thier is nothing I can do about it he was the runt of the litter ...All i wanted was to find a good home for him ..

And we hope you do find a great home for him.Your are not being "bashed" about having a small puppy, the first concern was his size which you alleviated when you said that he wouldn't be placed too early in a pet home.

The health tests I posted showed the acronoyms that most breeders know to test for prior to breeding a pair of Yorkies. BATS are bile acid tests that are done for liver shunt. CERF is testing for the eyes to rule out several genetic eye conditions such as PRA which is Progressive Renal Atrophy. LP stands for Luxating Patella, and Xrays are taken and then sent to a reputable assessment place(such as OFA) to determine what grade of LP is existing. The grades go from 1-4 with the higher numbers indicating a more severe form of LP, which can be crippling to a dog.

As I stated before, if he does not reach 2 to 3 pounds he should be placed "no fee" in a pre-approved home. One that is familiar in how to handle a tiny. Reputable breeders these tinies can incurr vet bills and they don't want to add that burden onto a new home and/or sell possible heartache.

No one is bashing you. Just bringing out points in being a reputable breeder. Your # one concern should be for the welfare of your pups. It shouldn't be about money.

Monies isn't the issue ..If it was about the monies ..I would not have not had his vet checks ..If all I cared was for the monies..I would have posted him in the news paper as a tea cup at 8 weeks of age ..

No one is bashing you for having a small pup. This happens sometimes, all we are saying is that these tiny babies often come with very large vet bills. Everything costs more because of their size. It takes a lot more time and money to raise them and keep them safe. Most reputable breeders do not sell there tines, they place them with people who have experience in caring for them. They don't want to sell someone a puppy that may cost them and arm and a leg to care for, so they place them with people who can and will care for them. As I stated before I have a tiny myself and I know of what I speak. Reputable breeders want to keep their reputation intact, so they always put the welfare of the puppy before money. How sad would it be for someone to spend $1800 dollars for a puppy, only to not be able to afford the vet bills for the special care it needs. That is anyone is trying to tell you, no one blames you for having a small puppy. We are just trying to point out some problems, to help you, the puppy and the future owner.

About the $ purchase price. As a consumer or future pet owner, I would not consider to purchase a pup that did not come for parents with the health checks I mentioned.

Given those parents had those health checks, without the parents having earned at minimum a CH in AKC or CKC or FCI. I would not ever consider paying $1800 for a pup from these two. To me it is not enough that they are able to be registered with AKC or even that the sire and dam both came from parents with CH titles, I want the parents of my future pup to have "earned" the right to breed. Gone out into the ring, been evaluated by show judges, been assessed by other yorkie breeders and fanciers,e tc.

I purchased my pup from a breeder that trains her dogs, champions them and does all the health checks, and the sire who I only got to meet later was a CH from a long line of champions, also with the requisite health checks. My dog's Mom has a long list of obedience titles, as well as Rally and Agility titles. The sire is now a champion of three European Countries.

So comparatively speaking I would be looking for similar titles and health checks before even considering spending $1800 for a dog. And knowing what I do about the health risks of a very small dog, I would not entertain spending anywhere near that amount of money.

I am not going to sit here and try to defend myself …First of all I received my Yorkies Mom and Dad as adults from a nice breeder ..She did all the medical stuff ( testing) x-rays on Mom .. before she placed them with me …I have done all the regular up keep on them with Vet visits … I feel, I am being bullied , questioned about my integrity and my intentions ..Its ridiculous ..I am not here to argue with anyone ..It’s not about u or me its about Romeo finding a good home ..I will not be responding to any more threads unless your interested in him ..I have all my documentation in order ..If you are interested in him and might be able to give him a good home please feel free to contact me ..

I think everyone is being a bit harsh IMO. $1800 is not an outrageous amount out here on the west coast, most of my friends have paid that or more for "pet" quality, healthy puppies.

OP My little Buster looks a lot like your Romeo!! I attached a photo of him at 10 weeks. He was small too as a pup and is almost 1 year old and 3 1/4 lbs. and very healthy!! Good Luck finding a loving home!!

I disagree with you. As a breeder/exhibitor, no reputable breeder than I know would sell a tiny. Those breeders that do, well money is the motivating factor, no matter how you color it. Again, it's about integrity and ethics. Not attempting to fool the unsuspecting public and doing what is right for the pup.

I'm in the west coast and yes, $1,800 - $2,000 is the average price for a standard size yorkie.
