You don't want to breed a lg male to a small female, that is the time when the size of the male comes into play. This thread is good for education, and with that being said, I want to comment on the point someone else made, that you can get tiny- healthy puppies out of a standard size female, but to breed tiny females to get tiny puppies is very unhealthy, and this is what ethical breeders/owners of yorkies have an issue with. If people continue to purchase the puppies from this sort of breeding (tiny females) people will continue to breed those tiny females.... | |

| The female belongs to my close friend, Rene. She come to stay at my house due to a death in her family (she lives in N.C). Lilly came because of the circumstances and not being able to make other arrangements in such short notice. I had NO clue no did Rene that she was in heat. I had one male here at the time (the father, Studder....lol) I went with her to the funeral and etc. She leaves and goes home..... Four weeks later she is calling me ..... having a fit b/c she found out Lilly was pregnant. She brought Lilly back down one weeks b/f her birth. My aunt watched over her (who is a very experienced breeder!!!!) and helped her during her birth. She did free whelp and was the BEST mom. She had two a female and a male. Rene is keeping the male, his name is Luke. We wouldn't breed her again! She is her pet and like her child! Rene nor myself would want something to happen to her!! Nor would I want anything to happen to ANY of our females! They are ALL our pets and are not put in Kennels! Not to mention, watching how miserable Lilly was. I must admit that was hard for Rene to watch. Lilly couldn't go up steps and etc. She pretty much had to be picked up and carried. She wasn't a happy camper and you could tell. She has very short legs.... bless her heart.. well you get the picture. Just let me say....... we don't just use tiny females. I have no clue where it says on any of my prior post that "All I use is tiny females?????." Since, THIS IS ALL MOST of you care about on the "FOR SALE AND WANTED section I've posted on!!!" Most of our breeder bitches are larger than this girls! And ARE NOT miserable when pregnant!! I am not hear to debate only to place my baby in a loving home! I thought putting her here first would be best.. but I have my doubts about this board! |

| Yorkiestolove ~ Please understand, our opinions were based on the previous information you gave regarding the size of your female/male, etc. The posts were said in a way to not personally attack or try to cause any heated debate. YT members are very passionate about everyone's Yorkie's and also the breeding practices by some. None of us in anyway want to make you uncomfortable or question the integrity of this Yorkie Talk forum. Again, we only posted w/ the information we had. Since your latest post you have given further information which is helpful. I guess my only question regarding your latest post is when you found your tiny female was pregnant by your friends male, why you didn't have the pups aborted as to not place your loved female in danger? Please forgive me if this question sounds harsh and intimidating, I don't mean it this way. I am NOT a breeder but I learn so much by reading about everyone's experiences w/ their breeding. I am relieved to read that you do not plan on breeding her again, I commend you for that. I myself do not care for debates either, but find myself curious about certain topics and am open to learning and reading other member's thoughts. Personally I would want a tiny female, it's always been a dream of mine. Also, I feel with the experience I have with Yorkie's I would make an excellent human Mom to a tiny yorkie. However, if I didn't know the entire story of how the breeding took place in the beginning I would be hesitant to adopt a baby girl Yorkie feeling the Mother yorkie had been placed in a dangerous situation. I do hope you reconsider your thoughts towards YT and find that us YT's truly are passionate about everything Yorkie's are involved in.

| Please PM me or e-mail me. I will send pics to those who are interested in actually thinking of purchasing. I am sorry, I am not putting them on the forum until she is sold. Then I will show you all the pics you want. I am not sure if you guys know, but ...I got a few emails of my last baby up on another website for sale. I don't want that to happen again....... NOR do I want anyone taking advantage of and that is exactly what that person was trying to do!!! I hope you guys understand Thanks Karmen |

| Yorkiestolove - I am sorry I spoke out. I didnt realize it was an accidental breeding. If you normally breed healthy size females surely you can see why some of us got so compassionate about this subject. This is one subject I am very passionate about because I know a breeder that does it constantly and her dog has to have c-sections. I am sorry I spoke out of turn I hope you accept my appologies.

| http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18926 The last puppy you had for sale the mom was 3.7lbs... this is why I questioned if you knew the dangers of breeding small females. You decided to keep that male... (the one you were going to sell on the forum) I still hope that you decide to read up on the dangers with breeding such small females, and that you get this little one spayed, so she doesn't accidentally get pregnant. (I know accidents happen, but there is something you can do.. ie: get them spayed, or abort the pregnancy) edited to add, that little male was 10 months, this little girl is 5 months so I am assuming they are from a different litter. |

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | after a boy that was so so tiny just up for sale.... and now an even smaller tiny girl - I have a feeling nothing is accidental. The parents weights speak for themselves : Weight of Yorkie(s) parents: 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 lbs Current weight of Yorkie(s) for sale: 1.1 lbs Do you ship your Yorkies: Depends on location I'm asking this nicely....You would SHIP this tiny girl ? Good luck Yorkiestolove...Anyone selling such small yorkies are bound to get some negative feedback - part of the selling game I guess. While I don't agree with it - I'm sure it happens since this is a public site. Most yorkie lovers here are concerned and passionate - this is a very very small little girl here. I'm sure you're a nice person... but you do have extremely tiny yorkies ...and quite a few of them from what we're seeing here in the For Sale Section.
