Sugars mom- you should get a 5-7lb female to breed your small male to... it isn't the size of the male that is the problem, it is the female since she has to carry and deliver puppies.

You don't want to breed a lg male to a small female, that is the time when the size of the male comes into play.

This thread is good for education, and with that being said, I want to comment on the point someone else made, that you can get tiny- healthy puppies out of a standard size female, but to breed tiny females to get tiny puppies is very unhealthy, and this is what ethical breeders/owners of yorkies have an issue with.

If people continue to purchase the puppies from this sort of breeding (tiny females) people will continue to breed those tiny females....
