These little guys have the same independent big dog attitudes as a yorkies three times their size. Because it is small don't think it is not mighty!! It is a misconception that they are fragile. Most are not at all nd open fontanels are rather common in yorkies and usually close up or get much smaller as they grow up. They ]make perfect travel companions and service dogs and they feel safest and are happiest when they are with their human....just as your yorkies are.

Generally speaking, more money is involved in show dogs- either you hire a person to handle and show the dog, or you do it yourself, staying at hotels, traveling expense, ect.

So an offspring of a show dog would be more expensive, when you add all the expense involved.... usually though the pups are more if the "parent" made champion.

But as far as the welping expense and shots, wormings, tail doc, dewclaws ect... that expense is the same regardless if it came from a champion or a pet female.

Not that one pup is valued higher than the other, it is just the expense that the owner has invested.

You can get a show quality pup from a nonshow dog, and you can get a pet quality from a champion...

I just think that people who show their dogs, have more money invested and therefore ask more for a pup... (some do and some don't)

Now, believe it or not... my pup from a "pet" yorkie is what I was told has "show potential"... but of course we will not know for sure until it is 6 months if she is "show quality"... doesn't matter though because I don't care to show, I don't care for the politics involved.

One question I have for you Socal... why is it you feel that if you pay 8500 for a pup that it makes you more qualified to care for this pup? unless a person was given loads of money, they have to work for their money, meaning that they won't be home with this fragile pup? What makes a person qualified to be good enough to care for a pup with medical problems? money is a very small factor- why should a pup who will need more than average vet care cost so much to buy? wouldn't it make more sense to sell the pup for 7500 less because chances are the medical bills will be more than this in the future for this pup? (I say this because the seller admitted that the pup has a soft spot in its head, it is very small, and the seller doesn't even know if it had certian tests that small pups apparently need)

I guess I don't understand why you believe the more you pay for a pup, the better qualified you are to take care of the pup?

I have seen/read here people giving up things they have needed to care for their pups.... money has nothing to do with love- at least that is what my parents taught me.

I also wanted to make one more point, then I will shut up...

I don't know of anyone getting all their money invested out of one pup... generally over time all money invested is returned, but not by the sale of one pup...

We have a business, if we charged for a job what we have invested in the company.. we would never get a job.... it doesn't work that way... you get your investment back over time. Not from one person/job/pup

(I know breeding is also a hobby, but it is considered business also)

I do not think this puppy will need any more expensive care than the average yorkie. An open fontanel is not life threatening and most dogs live completely normal lives with them.

The rationale behind a person who is willing to spend a lot on the pup being better able to care of it is that they see the value in the dog and are willing to pay the price...i.e., what the dog is worth. If you sold him for $500, the person may think twice about soending $1500 if it needed vet care for something later. They may just decide, as a lot of people do when faced with that decision, to just put the dog down and get another.

We are all faced with financial decisions every day, some bigger than others...whether to buy a house or a car, and if you own an expensive car that is worth $50,000 for exmple, then you are more willing to pay to get it fixed than if it is only worth $2500 and not worth fixing.

but i think if you sell your dogs high priced like this one, you are making a huge profit, for i do not believe it has cost this person 8500 dollars in 10 months to care for this baby. especially with the way it is undergroomed in this picture, you would think if she did invest around that much money that the baby would look alot better than it does. as far as being groomed and what not.

Are you that way? cause i spent 500.00 on Mason and ill spend tons more just to keep him around!! I love my dog to no end ..I dont have alot of money but I love my animals and take care of them just as good as other ppl. The thing that bothers me with really wealthy ppl....THEY have enough money to go by a replacement if there dog gets sick or they just dont want to deal......think about that!!!!!!!

ok, i'm gonna sound really stupid here for a second! what is a fontal??
