| ![]() I think that a lot of the people have a problem with the way that this was originally posted. Since some (maybe most) of us can't afford a 8 or 9 thousand dollar dog, we were offended that this woman thinks that only people who could pay that much would provide a good home.

Also, if she didn't want the extra expense of a "tiny" then she should have never bred two very small dogs together... you will generally not see a reputable breeder breed a female under 5lbs. as for the other, ie: the more you pay for the dog the more abe you are to care for it... I have to totally disagree with you.... there is no financial limit to love- how many people here (who have paid normal prices for a pup) have opted to put them to sleep because of high vet bills?? none that I have read... I have however seen auctions to raise money to help pay for expensive vet bills, and many people chip in to help... I have seen people get loans, go without for themselves ect to pay for vet bills.... love has no price limit. I will not compare a house, car or any "unliving" object to a pup... because they are two different things.... I have read thousands of times how these pups are like children to many here- (myself included) and that my friend, is priceless. I think it is offensive to say only people willing to pay over 8grand for a pup, are able to care for it.... I think you are wrong, and are hurting many peoples feelings. I know for me, I would rather help someone who needs it, then pay 8500 for a pup who has a medical problem already... and fatten a persons account because they are taking advantage of a poor pup. | |

I think you are right and I don't think she's going touch this thread again with a ten foot pole.

| ![]() In my view....It doesnt matter if you spend eight grand or five hundred...if your devoted to your dog the medical care and additionals are a given. I think its a misconception that if you pay more your getting a better "dog". In all reality if your looking for a status symbol like a fancy handbag ( I do have a few of those high priced bags, but I take care of them no better than I do the lower priced ones) this may be the dog for you...however Im more concerned about a post on a world wide board for a dog that is "highly desireable" ( not by me) and the amount of money being asked. One would think that a dog thats 10 months old with a very careing owner she would be less concerned about the price and more concerned about finding the best possible home. Im sure that there are many of you here that would forgo medical expences for yourselves in order to care for this pup. I dont think price paid has anything to do with the quality of the home....I think quality of person means alot. This isnt a straight "breeder" post....its someone who trying to benifit off the rare nature of the dog. Un fortunate in my view...this is only my personal opinion. |

| ![]() to read all the posts. I too think tha $8500 is alot for a dog. However, if I had it and I fell in love with the pup, I would pay it. Also, I don't think how much you pay for a pup has any bearing on what type of care you would give it. My two boys came from a BYB after I had a sick tiny that died and almost devastated me. Neither one are good standard yorkies, both are about 8 pounds, Garret has a cottony coat and floppy ears, Bengie is silky and his ears only go straight up when he wants something. Both are dark black with gold/tan markings (they are a year and a half old) However, I could not love them anymore than I do. when Bengie needed expensive vet care, I (at age 56) took on another job in addition to my 40+ hour day job and worked two jobs for over 8 months, I would lay down my life for my boys. We are all individuals, have individual lifestyles and finances, what I would pay is not what someone else would pay. Some people would say that paying what I have paid in vet bills for a so-so quality yorkie is nuts, but I love them and they are worth everything to me. If someone kidnapped either one of them and held them for $10,000 in ransom, I would sell my soul to get the money and get my boy(s) back. To me they are my world. JMHO |
