My daughter posted her plea for help because she was heartbroken and filled with guilt, sadness for all of us, and because she also loved Gracie Leigh. She also posted because she is a wonderful daughter and is always trying to take care of me. Your response was so totally inappropriate and unfeeling that it has taken me a very long time to respond to it. In a time of grief and sorrow, the last thing that anybody needs is an arrogant, uncaring person telling them what they did wrong. I rarely come on YT anymore, and it is just because of people like you. There are wonderful caring people on every thread. You can see that from this thread. Then "Wham" somebody decides that they need to post and tell the world the right way to do things whether or not it is hurtful, destructive or just plain mean. Nobody asked you for your "advice." How stupid do you think my daughter is that she did not realize that her dog has issues? Like I said, it is because of people like you that I rarely come to YT anymore. You may be right honey, but I certainly do no want anything to do with somebody so insensitive and arrogant.

i remember this thread, and i had the exact same thought the first and second time i read this post. the situation is extremely sad but i wouldnt felt comfortable letting one of my puppies go. im a breeder and i have volunteered off and on on for years with the same shelter and they would have said "no" on your application before you signed it. im not a cruel person and i dont believe the other person was being cruel, but trying to let you see another side that you might face when looking. Im sure you were able to get another yorkie. Every breeder is different and look at things differently. There are tons of people that breed and dont care what happens after the money is in their hands and there are some that are extremely strick on what home their puppies go to and there are some with big hearts that want to do right by people. its always differcult to hear somehing negative in your favor, but you have to look at your situration through someone elses eyes. Everyone makes mistakes, i have had my own terrible misfortune on here and if someone turned me down for their puppy i would understand, of course i dont want to hear it and im sure it would hurt my feelings but i would understand and respect it. i know things can tend to get very negative very quick on here at times, but for the most part i dont think thats people intentions. i think they are people being nice and their are people who state the facts and some times there are people pouring salt in the wound. but i dont think that was the case on this thread at all. i dont think the poster was arrogant or insenstive at all i have heard this numerous time and totally agree with it, you have no idea the tone by the "typed" sentences. | |

As another poster wrote, "I am so sorry about the terrible tragedy. I believe from your post that you Mom will have her own condo and not living with you and your large dog correct? I would look on here on the for sale section. I am sure you know that your dog cannever be around small dogs again. This was more than appropriate and thoughtful. I am not going to argue about the "tone" with anyone. I'm not stupid, and I found it condescending. Putting some thought into how you are saying something goes a long way! I do not buy into the nonsense that this is an open forum and anybody can state their opinion. Very often, it isn't what you say, but how you say it. At any rate, you can think whatever you like. I don't like people who are arrogant, and I do not come here anymore because of them.

I do have a wonderful, sweetheart of a little almost year old puppy who will never replace Gracie, but I am so happy I have her. I love her so much!

| ![]() Judy, I'm so sorry you lost Gracie Leigh so tragically. I cannot imagine the shock and grief of that. And I totally agree about some of the insensitive and rude comments left on here. I think twice (at least!) before posting anything, because I have been on the receiving end of some very unkind remarks. I wish you and your family all the luck. |
