Reminds me of a past memory. In grade school I had a great friend. We did alot together. Walked to classes together, talked and shared things, she seemed to always be a winner. I was drawn to that. She was different then me. I never liked recognition even if deserved. She on the other hand would shine like a star. I never liked it, I would rather hide then be noticed. I spent the night at her house one night, it wasnt the first, but we played a board game, I cant remember the name of it, but basically a game of chance. I won a few games at the end. She got very nasty. Calling me a cheater, and even ran to her mom saying "she won" " she won" then her mother consoled her as she cried. I just got lucky, I hadnt cheated. She had beat me maybe a 10 times before that. Then when I won she went kinda crazy. I never have understood that. And after that we never did have a friendship again. We would speak if in the same company but that was it. She wouldnt even look me in the eyes.

I have heard that Yorkies' noses have been tatooed black when they get that winter faded nose or the freckles that some get..I mean, tatooed the noses BLACK to show in the ring. Guess the end justifies the means in some people's opinions, huh??

Hair dye's blew my mind, but now tatoo's also?? Is all this "extra attention to detail" allowed in the show ring?? This all amazes me.

I am amazed at some of the things I see being done at the shows! From markers, chalk to dye.. When in the ring though I have noticed some of the judges will smell the coat of the dogs! If the person is caught they can be excused from the ring..

Yes, some of the judges are real good at what they do, and know what to watch for. I have seen them make an exibitor remove the top knot to make sure that the dog's ears were actually standing, and not being held up by hairs that were put into a top knot. I respect those judges. There are so many that instead of picking the best dog, choose who is on the other end of the lead. If I know a judge is known for picking handlers or friends instead of the best dog, I don't waste my money by entering under them. When people start learning about those judges and not entering under them, even the handlers end up not getting any majors because of it. Takes time to learn who does and who doesn't. When I first started I didn't believe that that judges were like that, but time after time show people would say, this person or that person is gonna win under judge so-n-so and it actually happened I soon started watching real close for myself. The entry fees and the travel expense totals up, and I hate paying when I don't even have a chance to win.

No, not going to Auburn because we are leaving for the Louville KY show on Tues and it is just too much too close together. If it wasn't just the week-end before we would have registered.

I see a lot of people that dye their dogs for fun, especially around the holidays. They usually use those spray in/wash out colors that you can get in the hair products areas.

| I had a white maltese poodle in high school that I dyed a few times...once pink for Valentine's day and the other time purple for Easter. It was hysterical and got so many reactions. There were a few times that I was out walking her and cars literally slammed on their brakes when they saw her. LOL! I should find a pic and scan it....

There is only one purpose of breeding dogs, to improve the breed as a whole. That means as a breeder, you breed for all of the above each and every time you breed together two dogs, you show your dogs to it's championship to validate your breeding program.
