Oh, and yes, I'm a new breeder...what is the problem with this?! It's none of your business but since you have decided to attack me like you have, I feel obliged (FORCED) to share with all of YT my reasons!!!!!!!!! I have always dreamed of raising these precious little dogs. When my first baby passed away in her daddy's arm and we were all told that I wouldn't make it, I decided to start living my dreams because life is short. We buried our first baby and told myself that I would never look back on my choices with regret. I am blessed to be able to do just that...live my dreams. I have been through more in my life than I care to share, but feel like I have to tell this part because of your harsh words. This is why I hold no apologies to anyone for my passion towards breeding the parti...I love them, period!

I stand by what I said...you are being rude, but I think that's pretty apparent to most now. If a human being can't see that their are actual feelings/lives behind a commuter screen, then that's very sad.

Having to type this all out has made me feel so sick to my stomache....are you glad?

Tammy

Tammy I'm so sorry and I tried to step in on your behalf. I know you felt the need to say what you did but never feel that you have to explain yourself to anyone. While we have a difference in opinions and feelings on the Parti's you and I have managed to keep it civil. Do like I do and not let it get to you. I know you love your dogs that has never been in question for me and I know you want what's best for them. Like Diane said ( I think that's her name ) we all share the same passion for animals. You just have to ignore the posts or attacks and move on. I know harder to do sometimes. I guess that's why I have a hard heart sometimes because I do have a wall and refuse to let others hurt me. Stay strong Tammy! I do care for you as a friend.

It doesn't seem to be 'black' but is really dark (she's in my avatar).

So, my experience has been that you can get great color using a lighter dog. I'd like to see it happen more often, and that's (hopefully) something I can attain in the future. I don't see that you have to be breeding only the ideal color to be breeding for standard, as I think has been implied here. And, even if you do, there's no guarantee that every pup will be that ideal color. Wouldn't it be nice if that were so.....

I've seen it come up from a grand parent, just like it can disappear from a strong parent. It's difficult.

I thought you said there were NO dyed dogs in the ring. Now you say it makes you laugh when the handlers are worried. hmmmmmm

You should back off. I make blanket statements. I'm not self promoting anything online. You should find another person to cyber bully. I won't tell you again. I'm sick of hearing the word afraid from you.

she clarified herself in another post when I made reference to the same comment...
Let's just keep it respectable. I have managed, I just wish others would. Keep it a nice clean debate. We can do without the harshness from both parties on this topic. I know if I can everyone can. LOL

I can make statements the same as you. If anyone is bullying here it has been you.
You come on here and tell everyone how to breed and that they are BYB's, disreptuable, call us all names but yet you hide behind your name. As far as I 'm concerned your a show wannabe and don't even own a yorkie, you just want to bully people around with all your so called opinions.

Tammy I am really sorry for everything you have gone through.
I can not imagine the heartache of losing a child.
Don't let the rudeness of someone get to you, best to just ignore them.
Some just think they have a little more self worth then what they really do.

No, it's not an unattainable color. But it comes with a price. If breeders concentrate on color it's at the expense of structure and attitude. Many of the dogs shown in the UK are examples of that. You haven't a clue what goes into breeding a competitive and healthy yorkshire terrier. How easy you have it...just breed for white patches.

"Just breed for white patches" you say? LOL...you couldn't be farther from the truth with ignorant statements such as these. Even though it is none of your business...my parti male is bile acid tested normal, OFA for patella's and is CERF normal for 2010.

He is micro chipped, and DNA'd with the AKC and has beautiful structure. He will be the foundation for my show prospects in the future. I spent years looking for a parti this nice that had a good bite, both testicles down, tight knee's, good conformation. And then held my breath as he matured and was health tested. It was a long jouney on my part. Tammy can testify to that!! She helped me through a few heartaches along the way.

I am just as proud of him as you are of whatever it is you own and breed. So please think before you type such nonsense.

Some dogs are dyed, some aren't. It's the same in all countries with, possibly, the exception of the UK. Again, you are on a crusade to promote a dog that isn't recognized or shown in the AKC or UKC ring. You have nothing to worry about nor do you have to deal with or do you understand the demands of the breed standard for the yorkshire terrier. Why do you enter into conversations about show dogs or compare them to parti color yorkies?

Since you have completed all the required tests he has a CHIC number? And if he is the foundation for show prospects I would guess that you are going to show in AKC or UKC shows? Why use a parti male if you wish to compete in those venues?

You seem to thing that Parti breeders only breed Parti's most everyone also raises standard yorkies.
So, Yes we do understand the standard.
Parti may not be able to show in AKC but they can be shown in other show venues.

Simple to produce outstanding Parti/Carrier quality dogs same as those who breed the standard colors.

Tammy...I am so sorry you were hurt enough by the words of another member...that you were compelled to defend your reasons for breeding...by bringing up such a tragic and heartbreaking event in your life. It is NOBODIES business here...why you choose to own and breed a parti yorkie. Those who matter know your reasons and support you fully. Donna is right. Both sides are getting too defensive (myself included)...and the true message is lost in transit. But passion can breed heated discussion...and the parti threads are certainly proof of that. Take care....

Did you know you could feed your maltese kelp and it helps restore some of the black on their nose that may have faded from lack of light.

Donna I wish more people were like you. You have strong beliefs and stick to them but at the same time you can have a nice debate with someone without belittling them. I've always respected you and your knowledge and I'm glad we have you on this forum.

I personally love the parti look although for me I have a very specific color placement that I prefer.
My main concern for the parti breeders is that they are being called unreputable because of the color they are striving for. I don't think this is fair if they are upholding the rest of the standard and ethics, health testing, etc.
They are after all striving for a goal which is to get them shown. They are trying their best to go about it the right away so how can they be called bad breeders?

I've seen it for sale but never knew what it's used for. Is this the only thing it's said to be good for?
