Parti Color? YTCA?

This seems to be a bit misleading. If parti-colors were accepted wouldn't it have read that they were registered as Parti Colored Yorkshire Terriers?? Were they just registered as Yorkshire Terriers and where the color is put on the form they just put Parti-Color??

To answer your Question, They are AKC registered as Yorkshire Terriers , in the color it says blue and tan Parti color, or black and tan parti color etc. Parti does not mean they are a diff breed. Parti is just a description of the color.
Here is an AKC registration paper so you can see it is no different except for color.

Why does it say black and tan parti. I thought you were breeding to the standard, except for the addition of white. You parti breeders ALL complain about the "black and tan" yorkie being off standard. So what about the color on your papers? We all know that black will NEVER be correct, never morph to blue silk.

That is what I was surmising, that they were registered as Yorkshire Terriers and the parti was what they had put for the color description.
But, if someone came across that site while looking for a Yorkie and sees the statement that they are registered as Yorkshire Terrier, Parti Color - and it could be misunderstood. I know I am not very good sometimes at explaining what I mean. Why don't they just say they are registered as Yorkshire Terriers?

Not everyone looking for a Yorkie really understands the breed, many a time they have just seen a Yorkie and think it is a cute dog to have.

ARe your puppies born blue? I sure dont think so . They are born Black and are black at the time of registration. Photos are sent to AKC at time of registrations and they see them as black in the photo. The DO turn blue as they age

BTW They DO morph to blue silk where the black is.

I didn't know photos were sent into AKC when registering puppies.
Has this always been done? I know I never had to send photos in to the UK kennel club when I was in England and registering puppies - but that was many years ago. When we got our first two Yorkies and sent in their registration papers, their colour was black and tan as that is the colour they are when they are born.

I dont register mine until I can obviously see what color they will be. Sales is not a concern for me. Registering early tells me an interest in sales, not an interest in the correct color. But to each their own.

I guess it will, just like someone registering one as blue and gold and it stays black. No difference. Except it would be registered wrong color.

Correction just so there is no mistake, Just like a yorkie puppy that is born black and gold and you register it blue and gold but it stays black.

But then when they dont acquire the correct blue, the puppy is registered with the wrong color. Why hurry on the registration? The only reason I can see early registration is for sales purposes.

Don't get too excited about the fact that Wildweir Kennel once produced a parti color or two. Their stock was imported from the UK. The parti colors weren't produced from generations of domestically bred Wildweir dogs. And the mixed breeding that introduced the spotted color pattern, accidental or not, could happen in any country!! This idea that because Joan Gordon has seen it gives credibility to the parti colors is both sad and laughable. Again, it was not produced by dogs bred for many generations by Joan and Janet.

And it remains to be seen the proof of the "written letter by Joan" and the picture that Joan may or may not send. Also, what they considered a tri-color back then may not have been the mostly white parti dogs of today. Maybe they had much smaller white patches probably on the chest and feet. But I cant wait to see that picture! Either way, it will be informative.
