				 | I will make you a deal, I live in the Atlanta area and I will help you find a Yorkie from a reputable breeder or a rescue (involved with a good rescue locally, we get a lot of Yorkies, Maltese and Shih Tzus). Please, really think long and hard before purchasing a dog from Petland or 911Breeder. I have met people who have gotten dogs from both places and they have not been real honest with the buyer. I will even meet you at a Petland someday and we can look at puppies together. I will ask the important questions, you know that ones that might make the store mad but will get you a good healthy puppy. I think no one wants to make your mad or hurt your feelings, if anything we are trying to spare your feelings from getting hurt by having a really bad experience when buying a Yorkie puppy. Let me know if you want to take me up on this offer?

| My furkids Donating Member | Maybe I am out of place here but.....pot stirrer???!!! It's beyond me how some people don't understand puppy mills and pet stores....and how these moms, dads, and babies are treated! We were in Penn this past weekend and there was some kid dressed up like a dog jumping around the side of the road with a sign about Petland! come in a buy a puppy!!! it said!! REALLY???!! Made me SICK! And as for the internet and truth! HA! now THAT is funny!!! just because it's on the internet doesn't make it true! You need to really research where you are buying your pup from...I do agree...they ALL need good homes...but, you could get a REALLY sick pup and your vet cost could be astronomical! not to mention you will probably pay $$$$ for this puppy...that may not even be a REAL yorkie!! This is a wonderful forum...lots of good educated people with great advise....all the members responding are trying to help you...which it seems you don't want and have already made your decision...so good luck! If you DO decide to purchase a pup from this place I hope and pray he/she is healthy and a real yorkie!

				 | Honestly, not really fond of that page. It appears to be either a Puppy Broker or someone who breeds a lot of different dogs since none of them really look to be the same age or from the same litter. Don't be fooled by the promise of a lifetime health guarantee and that they are selling pet insurance. You can get the pet insurance on you own. Have you looked up breeders in GA at www.YTCA.org? That is what I would start for sure, try this link Yorkshire Terrier Dog Breeders- Yorkie Puppies Remember when you buy a puppy you are actually buying the breeder so you want to do things like see the Mom (and Dad if available), go to their home if possible and see where they were living and most importantly build a relationship with the breeder, they will be a valuable resource for you in the future if you puppy has any health issues. Quick question, do you want to get a puppy locally?

				 | Hey I understand the feeling of wanting to "rescue" a dog from a puppy mill. As you said, every dog deserves to be loved and have a home. You figure, well they are in there already so let me take one and give it a good life. I think your heart is in the right place as I know I would want to take every one of them out of their cages and give them a chance. I think what everyone is trying to say that for every dog that is sold in one of those places they breed another one to take its place. So what do we do? How do we stop it? I wish I had the answer. Just an fyi there are a lot of really nice yorkies that are put up for adoption due to aging caretakers, babies being born, a move etc. These dogs need someone right away, even more than most because they go from loving homes to being in a rescue and don't understand why they are there and what they did. They have their shots, are healthy and most are already potty trained. I got my 1 year old from a great breeder that breeds for show. She decided she didn't have the temperament for show so decided to adopt her out. She is a wonderful dog who is such part of our family now. She is so happy and has a completely different life than she did a year ago. There are many that post on here that put their healthy pups up for adoption. Please take the other posters advice and offer to help you find the right pup. I would love to hear your success story and I know that you will love your new healthy baby like we do ours. |

				 | I bought Buster from a Pet store that lied when they stated they knew all their breeders and that they never buy from Puppy Mills. I believed their lies. Buster was sick the night I brought him home. I learned he had Giardia, Coccidia, and a case of resistant Kennel cough that became pneumonia. I spent over $3,000.00 in medical bills in his first 3 months and in the first year over $7,000.00 due to bad breeding. I also spent the first three months heart broken, sleep deprived listening to Buster struggling to breathe during the night, scared to death watching him on oxygen praying he would survive. You asked for advice yet you don't want to hear it. People are trying to warn you because they have seen many experiences on YT like this and are trying to spare you from having to go through a similar situation.

				 | WOW, all I can say is WOW. When I started reading the post my first reaction was "Are you insane?" But I see everyone feels as I do. ATL I understand that you are not wanting to spend a lot of money initially, but buying from a pet store or puppymill will cost you a lot in the end. You may want to look at rescue, or change to a different breed. This breed is very specific and so true breeders put a lot of time, effort and love into developing their lines. Puppy mills just pop out the dogs without taking into consideration the dogs health or well being. Sorry, I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I can assure you that later on you will be making another post that your dog is not doing well. I've been a dog owner forever and I've seen the difference in good breeding and bad. I've had to console my friends whose dogs have had severe kidney problems, and all sorts of things. Take a deep breath and take your time. I know breeders that have found homes for their "pet only" yorkies at $500.

				 | ditto atlyorkie, you have so many grammatical mistakes that it is very difficult to read and understand your comments without trying to figure out what you are saying. I am assuming that English is your second language. Please listen to ALL of the above comments! Do your research, and you will find that the information you were given is absolutely correct!

				 | Uneducated? That is not very kind, some cannot help it if their education is not up to your standards and level. AtlYorkie. I am sorry for the sad loss of your Grandma, it is a bad time for you I know. May God give you peace and heal your pain. Deepest sympathy. |
