| UPDATE ON HBC Yorkie Plainfield. This is an update on the little Yorkie that was hit and found on the side of the road in bad shape, that a good samaritan took to a vet office. Spoke to the office today. They named her Gianna by the way and she is doing much better. I asked what will happen to her, if no one comes forward and she asked if I would be interested in taking her and I said I would take her. I am going to go visit her next week when I'm off from work and take a blanket and some toys and treats to her. I'm waiting on a call from the vet to see what the cost will be to treat her fully. Hoping not too much, but I can't leave this little girl without anyone to speak for her or help her. I have to say the vet's office seem excellent. They seem to really like her. We'll see what happens. It's about an hour an a half / two hour drive from me. Please keep this girl in your prayers and me too, because I think hubby is about ready to kill me. I'm told she is a very sweet loving girl. Whether I'll keep her or just pay for her treatment and foster her until she's ready for a home I don't know for sure, but definatley told the vet's office I will take her if no one comes forward. |

| I just spoke to the vet. I'm going to go up tomorrow instead. I do not have to go to work until 6 so I'll be back in plenty of time for work. It's about a hour to two hour drive so I'll leave early. She is doing good, but has some neurological issues and it's too soon to know if they will improve to where she'll be normal, but she has improved greatly. I expected that that would be the case. We'll see what happens. |

| I'm in Jersey too. Did you say this Yorkie was in Plainfield? That's right around the corner from me. I hope she's doing well!

| I just got home. Was a long ride. She is a doll. The vet bill for her is quite high. She had severe head trauma and was in bad shape when they got her on Tuesday, but she is coming along well considering. Her eyes are blood shot, which I would guess is to be expected. She can now stand and walk a little but wobbly and if she does fall has troulbe getting back up. I brought along a stuffed Yorkie which she seemed to like. She had her head on her, and we bought her a small stuffie, bullystick, pink bed and some treats. They did not put her on food or water yet, just IV. While I was there they called the shelter to see if I could just take her on Monday if no one comes forward. The shelter said yes, which I was happy for because she will need probably six weeks or so of crate care and she is very skinny, all bones really. I estimate her to be probably about 4 or 5 rather then a year or two as the post suggested. The vet said she was infested with fleas when she came in and they treated her with a pill for them. I can't make out what kind of home she came from, her weight and the fleas would suggest not so good yet her nails are neatly trimmed and she has no matts and is very sweet so I just don't know. At any rate, I offered a $500 donation towards her vet care and it's agreed that on Monday she will not go to the shelter. If no one steps up and claims her I will pick her up and bring her home here with me. I did contact a Yorkie rescue and left a message, asking for some help with her if I agreed to foster her for as long as needed. I fell in love with her but it will be difficult to take on another for good. I'm enclosing some pictures of her. She's a petite Yorkie, prob about 5 lbs but skinny, but still is small. Elaine |

| You are doing a wonderful thing. I hate to burst your bubble but even if someone does come forward they may not have the funds to be able to take her home if the. Et charges them for the care. As you probably noticed Plainfield is not the greatest of areas. Poor little girl looks like my Baby. I hope she finds her forever home.

| What a little sweetie she is and what a huge sweetheart you are for taking her in and helping her recover. I know she will blossom under your care. Thanks for making a difference. Best wishes to you and Gianna.
