I just got home. Was a long ride. She is a doll. The vet bill for her is quite high. She had severe head trauma and was in bad shape when they got her on Tuesday, but she is coming along well considering. Her eyes are blood shot, which I would guess is to be expected. She can now stand and walk a little but wobbly and if she does fall has troulbe getting back up. I brought along a stuffed Yorkie which she seemed to like. She had her head on her, and we bought her a small stuffie, bullystick, pink bed and some treats. They did not put her on food or water yet, just IV. While I was there they called the shelter to see if I could just take her on Monday if no one comes forward. The shelter said yes, which I was happy for because she will need probably six weeks or so of crate care and she is very skinny, all bones really. I estimate her to be probably about 4 or 5 rather then a year or two as the post suggested. The vet said she was infested with fleas when she came in and they treated her with a pill for them. I can't make out what kind of home she came from, her weight and the fleas would suggest not so good yet her nails are neatly trimmed and she has no matts and is very sweet so I just don't know. At any rate, I offered a $500 donation towards her vet care and it's agreed that on Monday she will not go to the shelter. If no one steps up and claims her I will pick her up and bring her home here with me. I did contact a Yorkie rescue and left a message, asking for some help with her if I agreed to foster her for as long as needed. I fell in love with her but it will be difficult to take on another for good. I'm enclosing some pictures of her. She's a petite Yorkie, prob about 5 lbs but skinny, but still is small. Elaine
