| ![]() My daughter has done everything we could think of. She got the foster mothers name from the neighbor who had given her away. She has called her sent her pictures and explained to her where and how she was sent to the rescue site. The neighbor girls were playing with her after she had gotten out of the yard. The little girls thought they were doing a good deed by taking her around door to door. One of the neighbors said she would keep her if they didnt find her home. so a few minutes later the girls brought Cali to the neighbor ladys home. Two doors down from my daughters house. we went door to door also three different times. People even told us they had seen her with the girls but did not know who the girls were or where they took her. Her name is Cali, however on the site they have renamed her Khloe. My daughter has emailed her foster mother as well as called and left messages. The foster mother asked for pictures and after getting them never responded back to my daughter. She also emailed the actual yorkie rescue site. No one has returned her any information regarding getting Cali back. She has now gone to the police and we are praying to hear something very soon. She will be going to the media in the local area trying also to get the word out. We are learning a lot about the importance of micro chipping. I hope not too late. |

| ![]() No news at all. They have named her Khloe on the site. She does look like a yorkie but she is not. She is listed at $450.00 We have been contacting this foster mother since Jan/24 and She nor the site are helping us get any closer to getting her home. Can you even imagine seeing your puppy on the internet for sale. Its heartbreaking because we just wonder what she is thinking. She must feel deserted from her family. |

| ![]() Not saying anything against anyone as I only am hearing one side of this. BUT...if it is true that these people have not contacted you.....you need to do something. If it were my pup I would be filing claims with the police, animal control AND I would contact the media. There is no way I would be on an online forum discussing this....I would take action immediately. Time is of the essence....if this is your pup and they adopt her out to another family it gets even more confusing and sadly involves even more people.

| ![]() I would be amazed if anyone could get them to contact us. We have tried but now it is in the hands of the police. I did see last night that they had removed Calie/Khloe from the adoption list. In fact she was no where to be found. We pray that she has not been adopted. If they would just contact us to let us know something. We want her home. |

| ![]() it has been already taken to the police. You see, I knew no where else to go. We went to the SPCA, they told us to go to the police if they would not contact us. We did go to the police. The first time the officer acted as if we were wasting their time, they asked why we were telling them what did they expect them to do. Obviously they did not understand how much you could love you pet. I knew by coming on and posting on this site I would find other who loved their pets and felt as we do about cali. She is part of our family and our home is not the same without her. That is why we needed support. I haven't wasted time we needed ideas we needed to know if there was anything else we could do. |

| ![]() Im sorry I have tried to be nice about giving them the benefit of the doubt, so to speak. But they have not returned any emails what so ever and not only that they have removed Khloe who is actually Cali and we dont know where they have taken her. ( She is not on the recently adopted list) They have had plenty of time to try and do the right thing. We are waiting to see what the police are going to do with all the information they have been given. I myself like most of you, wanted to believe that this was not possible from a reputable rescue, but I assure you it is and it did happen. I also am sure I will make emenys with this infor but at this point I dont care whose toes I step on and I will not stop this until the case is closed. Once again she was not an abused or neglected animal. Nor was she a yorkie. |

![]() If you don't mind me asking, how long ago did Callie go missing? I'm in no way associated with this rescue, but I've seen how fosters work at the spca, so maybe this will help explain things a bit. Even though you or your daughter have sent proof that Callie/Kloe was yours, the foster mom can't do nothing. A foster mom's only job is to love, feed, and care for the little ones in foster care. She would have to then forward all your information to a board of directors. Once a dog enters foster care, they are then considered property of the rescue (not an individual). I know it's weird to talk about property, but unfortunately, our furry babies are considered property. The purpose of rescue is to protect and care for dogs that are in the rescue. Whether stray or owner surrender. I can almost guarantee that the rescue had no idea that Callie had a family. If Callie wasn't chipped or had any form of identification on her (tags on a collar or a harness) it makes the situation more complicated. It would make returning her to you a longer process as there is no easy way to identify Kloe as Callie. Please don't be offended because they gave your pup a name. It is customary in rescue to give a dog a name instead of calling it "dog" for as long as it stays with it's foster family. I bet you anything they didn't know Callie had a home. Also, if Callie/Kloe was removed from the adoptable page, it doesn't mean she has been taken or moved, it just means they are showing you respect and taking your claim to Callie/Kloe very seriously. They don't want to mislead anyone into thinking she's available when she obviously isn't. I did see her picture, and since Callie is a mix, she did look like a possible yorkie mix. When a dog is mixed, there is no standard and they can end up looking like anything. She's very cute, by the way. The only advice I can offer you is keep bugging them. Be consistent, send an email everyday. Eventually they will get back to you. It might be a lengthy process, but they will eventually respond. Good luck to you.

| ![]() Cali got out of the back yard on Jan 11th. On Jan 24th we were given the foster mothers name and we made the first contact with her. We never stopped looking for her. I am not sure if the children playing with her kept her for a couple of days or exactly what happened. I do know they took her to the neighbors house and she kept her for a while until her husband told her she couldnt keep her any longer. I dont know how she was not able to see the signs around the neighbor hood but I suppose she did not. We had gone by her house three different times inquiring of Cali, she was never home only her adult son but he never mentioned she had been given Cali. Maybe he was not aware of it? We were eventually told by the children who found her that she had Cali. At that point she apologized and gave us the foster mothers name and numbers. When my daughter called the foster mother she was not very pleasant to my daughter and they got off to a rocky start I am afraid. I believe everyone in the beginining thought they were doing the right thing for the right reasons. But somewhere the morality of it all began to be questioned. No one to this day has returned any calls or emails once the evidence of Calis ownership has been sent. I do understand what you are saying and I am not offended by them calling her Khloe, for the purpose of giving her a name. We just want her back. I am sure the rescue site would find her a great home but she already had one. Growing up my father taught me about principles and honor. I believe we should live by them, even a well known well supported rescue group. Possibly they need to be reminded. As stated before she was not neglected or abused. She was loved by many, and now missed by many. |

IF this is your pup and IF you provided proof that she is yours, they are SO in the wrong. They best hope they never get one of my pups and play that little game. It is theft to keep a dog if you know who owns it NO MATTER what you think about how the dog may have been cared for!!! I hope they read what I am writing...and I am sure they will. I also hope that if your story is true they are prepared for the karma that surely will be coming. You seem to think that posting here is going to help....no way. They don't care...they will care if an attorney gets involved!

| ![]() If you ran a rescue and a dog's ownership is in question, wouldn't you take the dog off the adoptable page as well? Why accept applications on a dog that possibly already has a home? That to me wouldn't make sense. I highly, HIGHLY doubt they're hiding her, it's more a sign of respect while they are looking into it.
