| ![]() I don't understand. If I bred her, it's my responsibility to rehabilitate her. I wouldn't dare give her to a rescue. I support rescue. But she is my responsibility if I brought her into this world. Not anyone elses. It's unfortunate, but it's okay. A women without a dog that is not trained to work through her issues can't be the hope of a home she has. |

Nope...not you...sounded odd to me as well. I am sure the OP told her about Mindy....and my impression was that there were no men in the home. How many people would take a pup that was afraid of men for walks around men and let the men HANDLE her so that they got bit???? Weird story for SURE. Honestly at this point, I think this pup needs to be in a rescue that puts people through a ringer. I wish I could place her! She would not keep coming back. I just do not have room. People blast rescues for putting people though a ringer...but THIS is a perfect example of why. It is so unfair to a pup to put them through so many changes. This is a very sad story. I am quite sure I could handle her...I wish I could. ![]()

Thanks for the link, I have wrote them, but since they are in another state I doubt they can help. We shall see. I was pretty ticked off at this woman for not calling me. I have been trying to get a hold of her for over a week and she just ignored my calls and emails. I could of maybe helped or at least taken her back sooner. Now she is all stressed, running around the house, snapping at the other dogs. I can't put her through anything like this again. I know she must be so confused and maybe even a little ticked off.. I sure would be. Now she is laying down chewing on a bone ![]()

I wondered the same thing and when I picked her up tonight I asked the woman why the heck was she doing that!! I was pretty mad at her for that, and for not contacting me sooner. I gave her heck too. She said Mindy bit her ex husband this morning when he came by (she told me b4 she had NO contact with him). And he threatened to sue her. She said when she was walking Mindy she saw an older man and went after him pulling and going nuts on the leash. then she got out of the harness as she tells it and attacked the old man biting at his legs. Then another incident she says she bit her brothers hand when he went to pet her, [on the head, from the top..DUH]. I said to her why would you allow him to even try to touch her when you knew. she said he had petted her before with no problems. So it sounds like she actually made contact with 3 men and tried like heck on any other man she saw. I can tell you that I have not had ANYTHING like that happen with her in public places. When we were at the vet 2x she was good, not any issues with men or dogs. She had not bit a single male since at least January. And I had them coming to my home. She never tried when Steve and Sue came or anyone else while she was in their home. We took her into our home around December 6th and I started working with her right away as well as my husband and son. The only thing I can think of that set her off would be to much to soon. She was used to free in a yard. There is nowhere safe to walk around here on these back roads so I don't walk them. So having to much happen so fast had to have upset her. The woman lives in apartment so she had to walk Mindy to go potty and one would run into a lot of people that way.

| ![]() She was just stupid imo. If she knew that Mindy did not like men, why did she not tell them NOT to pet her. Just stupid, stupid. Mindy is better off away from her imho! I don't buy that harness story. They don't just pull out of a harness. Good grief..how much does she weigh??? If the woman cannot control a yorkie, she need NOT have a dog at all. ![]()

![]() Yes I sure did tell every single detail about Mindy. She said she could handle that and take the right precautions. I also put her the "ringer", I didn't just say here ya go, bye! Here is what I did: Had her fill out an adoption form Had her for a visit after talking with her a couple of times on the phone. Checked her references including talking with her vet. Went to her place and visited her with Mindy (also the OK from the apt management). Then I had her read and sign the adoption agreement. We had talked over and over about Mindy's man issue. And she was supposed to update me but never did. I left a message on Saturday telling her if I did not hear from her by Monday I would be coming out to remove Mindy from her care, per the adoption agreement (which is legal) which she signed. Then Monday I got that call, but it was to ask me to take her back and why..and Ya, I was surprised by it. If it were me I would of called the person I got her from and let them (me) know what was going on. She told me the reason she didn't was because she wanted to handle it herself. I guess she thought she knew more then she did, and more then me, the one person who could of helped. I would have worked with Mindy while she was there and possibly we could have had a different outcome. I don't really see what more I could have done. And i am just SICK over this! I don't want to debate about rescues and what I should or shouldn't have done. I only want to talk about how to help Mindy. At this point the only thing I can do is keep her and try to come up with extra money to take her to a trainer. She has been handed around to damn much and I just cannot live with putting her through it again. BTW. My name is Karla..not OP ![]()

![]() I suppose the way I mentioned rescues putting people through a ringer and she would not keep coming back does sound like that....I did not mean it that way at all. I am just frustrated as well...it makes me sick to see a pup go through this...and, I feel for you as well.

I saw your post on Yorkietalk and I am interested in Mindy. My husband and I are retired, we live in Texas and just built a new home. We have a large yard and it is fenced with an 8' privacy fence. We have a Yorkie named Angus, he is 9 years old. Everyday we go for a walk in the Green Belt down by the river....Angus loves his walks...... and Mindy looks like a Yorkie to me. That is the correct picture of her isn't it. I see she has a long tail. She really looks cute and I think she and Angus would get along as he is so laid back. I'll wait to hear from you.
