Yes, it is probably leather ear. Clean every day with rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and apply a thin coat of the Lotrimin 1% (yes you can buy at walmart) - It may take a while - weeks or even months, but it should clear at some point And if you groom her - NEVER buzz her ear short, you can trim her ears, but no buzzer shave

Thank you so much. I will get started treating her and will pass this information along to her new family when we find one for her.

I am sending out requests for email addy for individuals that have expressed interest in Lolita. If you have not received a request from me please PM me.

I don't know where she will end up yet but she is the sweetest little girl. She's laid back, relaxed, and just enjoying her time here with us. She's doing an excellent job going potty outside. (Only the one inside accident that was my own fault.) She much prefers to potty outside than on the potty pad. She likes to life one leg lift a lot of times when she's going potty. Sorry... I think it just too cute. I have yet to hear her bark... and I have been wanting to hear it. She's started using the pet steps to get up and down from the couch but she will jump if she's not near the steps so I watch her pretty close. She's starting to lay beside me and climb up on my chest when I'm kicked back on the couch. She follows me around the house and out in the yard. She needs some grooming done but we will work on that some this weekend. Still no agressions issues, but she's also not playful with the girls yet. She's more content to just relax and enjoy exploring. Her vet visit is tomorrow so I may have more to share then.

I forgot to mention that she doesn't have a problem with cats but will want to check them out. I don't know if they are just new to her or if she just likes them but she wants to check them out.

I don't have any indoor birds but she does seem to run after the wild birds outside a bit if she notices them. She gives up quickly but it's something to consider if you have indoor birds.

Lolita (LoLo) had her vet visit today and we have her spay and teeth cleaning set up for the 22nd. She's a little on the skinny side (3lbs 11oz) so we want to try to get some weight on her. The power was out in our area so we couldn't do pre-op blood work today but we will be doing it prior to her surgery as well as checking her for heartworms. I believe she has been on heartworm meds previously but with her history being a bit shaky I want to have her checked before she is given a preventative.

The vet checked her for ear mites and she does have them. She will be getting one drop of Eradimite in each ear every other day for the next 2 weeks.

Her nails were pretty long so I had them clipped but they need clipped back more. They are going to take care of that when she gets spayed. She doesn't care to have this done so I let the vets office be the bad guys.

I talked to the vet about LP. She felt her and said she does pop out on her back legs. She doesn't exhibit any symptoms that she hurts and she does not have any any difficulty getting around. I have not heard any popping sounds either.

There were two medium size dogs in the vets office and she really wanted to go meet them. I wouldn't let her down so she didn't have the opportunity to meet them like she wanted to. I don't let the kids play around at the doctors office... I'm afraid they might catch something that we didn't go in with so movement is always restricted in those situations.

I'm going to get her a bath this weekend and get her washed up. Right now she's a hot mess. lol She needs a sani trim as well as her paw pads trimmed so were going to take care of that as well.

Otherwise she is still doing wonderfully. I'm getting more and more lovings and kisses from her every day. She gets a yogurt drop each day and I have also given her a small hard biscuit just to see how she does with eating it. She does just fine without any help from me breaking them up.

So glad to hear she is doing well. Am praying for her to do well with her spay. Is nice to hear she doesn't have any bad health issues with all she has been through. She is blessed to have found you to be there to foster her.

Sounds like lolo is getting lots of love. I am so glad she is getting all of her vet work done. I hope she is continuing to adjust to all the love she is getting. I know you will do a good job picking her new home. I just read all the thread. By all means follow your gut. You do not want to have any regrets. There are some good, and not so good people out there. I am sure you will find her the perfect forever home. Keep us posted. Many thanks to the person who donated her re-homing fee. That is so cool!!

Jennifer, I'm sure she will feel so much better after a nice bath. Perhaps you could post some more pictures of this little girl after she's had her bath?

Default LoLo's vet and TLC

Hi Jen,

Well I must say you are doing an exceptional job in getting this little girl all the special TLC and vet care that she needs and deserves. I too would love to see pictures of her when has had a her "beauty salon" moment......
All the kisses she is showing that she is coming out of her shell and responding well to all the love and attention she is getting and deserves.
That is great that she going to add some weight before her surgery.

I know that there have been several that have expressed a desire to adopt Lolo including myself & my husband and I know that you will make the right decision that is in her best interest. All my years in pet rescue proved to be challenging in those decisions. Regardless of who you decide on my husband & I feel compelled to at least donate some funds toward her vet care.
Bless you Jen for Lolo's rescue

We have experienced some new things this morning with LoLo. She decided she wanted to play with the girls. After we all went outside to potty and burn up some energy in the yard LoLo and Kissy had a nice game of tag and tug of war with a sock this morning around the living room. I finally got to hear her bark while they were playing. lol

Natasha came up on the couch for some one on one time with me while Kissy and LoLo were playing. (Natasha is a mommas girl.) A while later Kissy came up to get some lovings and then LoLo was soon to follow in Kissy’s footsteps. I think LoLo got a bit jealous of Kissy at this point because she got a little testy with her but I put a stop to it straight away so I don’t know if it would have gotten bad or not. Next thing you know, they were playing again and Natasha had me all to herself. lol

LoLo follows me around the house and will either lie on the couch or at my feet but she sticks pretty close to me unless she decides to explore a bit. When she decides she wants to explore I take her outside in case she’s hunting for a good potty spot. She will not tell you she has to go potty. We have potty bells by the door and we ring them before we go outside so maybe she will catch on to their use and do this on her own.

LoLo is still doing a good job going potty outside but like I said above I keep an eye on her and watch for signs that she may need to go. Yesterday morning it was raining a bit and I could not coax her into the grass so she went potty on the porch instead. At least it was outside. lol

My son has a track meet today and I want to get some pictures of him so I will be at the school for a while today. I do want to let everyone know that I’m working on the applications for LoLo and I am starting to call references. I hope to have an answer sooner rather than later because I don’t want to keep everyone in suspense longer than necessary but, I wont rush into a decision either for LoLo’s sake. With all the good potential homes to choose from it’s going to be a tough decision to make. LoLo is going to be a lucky little girl.

I will try to get some pictures of her after she gets washed up and get them posted. I don’t know how much she will cooperate with the bath or the pictures but I will do my best. lol

Thank you for the great update Jennifer. You are a wonderful foster mom! I don't know how you are going to part with her when the time comes.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm trying to do my best for this little girl. She's really a sweetheart and has adjusted so well. I think it's because we let her do it on her terms and didn't force anything on her. I can't say enough good things about her and I will be absolutely heartbroken when she leaves. My only consolation will be that she will be going to a good forever home that will continue to love her the way she deserves to be loved.

Wow... Thank you so much for the very kind gesture to help with the vet bills. The bills are starting to add up and the biggest hit is yet to come but I don't want anyone to think that I'm trying to take advantage of anyone so I really don't know what to say right now but "thank you". She's worth every penny and more though. Your kindness amazes me.
