| So Heres A Question This is my situation; My husband just got relocated to another city for his job and because of how protective he is with out kids, i am not going to be able to get a job there for quite some time due to the babysitting issues he has. I have been wanting to start a second hand doggy shop for any type of item i can find. My question is if anyone on here would have anything that they would be willing to donate to help me get started. In the future i really want to start my own pet store but due to the bankruptcy we just filed we are not going to be able to do that for some time. So for now i just want to try to start something out of my home. If anyone has anything that they could possibly donate that would be amazing for your help. Please PM me if you are willing and able to donate to my new and hopefully growing business idea...thank you all who help Ally (mommy of fergie) |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Hey sweetie - dont knock the people here - they have huge hearts - the gift exchange is a totally different thing - people here will jump in and donate when there's a good cause - but to tell you the truth - just asking for handouts probably isn't going to get much response.... In your other posts - you said you just bought a yorkie and are going to breed her ? I guess things aren't that bad if you could afford to buy a dog - so again - that may account for the lack of responses - but good luck with your move. oh - and if you really just need some clothes or something for your new yorkie - why not just ask outright ? I understand tough times and have given clothes to someone who needed them.

| well i bought my yorkie for $100 bucks if that tells you anything. Im not looking for handouts...im not going to be able to work and I absolutely love animals...i have wanted to do this for a long time and it seems there is alot of people on here that are very giving and they have alot of extra stuff that they dont need...if no one is able to help me thats fine but like i said before...i just filed bankruptcy so no i dont have alot of money and the reason i want to do this is to help pay for my family and the move we are going to have to make in a few weeks which is gonna cost us over $3000. my husband has been the only one to support the family since we have had our girls and i cannot get a job at this time because of how he feels about child care. I have tried a number of things to make a little money to help but nothing has worked such as starting my daycare but that didnt work because of where we lived they wouldnt approve it because there wasnt enough exits. if no one is willing to help thats fine...i was just asking if anyone would be willing to...thats all PS i would get a loan and just start it that way but i cant because of the bankruptcy...so it all goes on my expence and right now we live pay check to pay check and thats not even cutting it...thanks for the wake up call though...i wasnt trying to sound like a charity case or anything...just thought people might help |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Ok...then I'd say selling used dog clothes won't do it for you. You may want to sell used HUMAN clothes - there's more need and better money in that - you could shop garage sales and re-sell it out of your home ? Just a word of caution - I really wouldn't do anything like what you're thinking only because you don't want a bunch of strangers in your house...you never know these days ....and you have young kids. Maybe try one of the Phone solicitor jobs ? there's some jobs you can do from your home but I can't really help you with Ideas - I'd love to work out of my home and earn extra money - but it's really hard to do unless you have something really marketable. edited - what about a Dog Sitting business ? People could drop their dogs off for the day - I've seen people do that and it would be alot easier than trying to sell tiny used dog clothes....the market just isn't there for something like that unless you lived right next door to a groomer or vet. |

| Word of wisdom: Dont knock ppl on here when your trying to get help...It makes it a lost cause. Good luck in your adventure. Selling used dog clothing isnt very profitable...You ever try ebay or anything like that. Kids clothes does really well on there. I also wanted to add that i run a daycare and were not all bad..... You just have to be careful... Good Luck! |

| so im just trying to make some extra money and i dont have any clothes to sell plus i have a phobia about used clothing...thats why i went to doggy stuff...and im not trying to make a living...just a little money to help and i have already thought of a doggy daycare...if i had a doggy daycare then there would be people in my home just like if i was selling these clothes...or i could do both...thats an idea...for the people that bring their doggys over, there could be a little section of house with doggy items for sale...i also think that the market for this kinda stuff depends on where you live...but thanks anyways... |

Its not me with the daycare issues, its my husband...i have wanted to start a daycare but the state would not approve my home so hopefully with the move i can do that...and as far as childrens clothing...it all goes to my best friend who is having a baby in a few days...she has gotten all of my stuff because she is in the same situation i am financialy. And again i wasnt trying to knock people on here...i know you are all really nice people..i have been reading threads and post for the last 2 or 3 days straight lol...i am just broke and i thought that selling doggy items would be really fun for me and would make enough money to help out...

| Ally, maybe it's because we are confused. You have both this and this other thread going http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...206#post740206 If you are in a bind............how are you looking to purchase another yorkie? Let alone be picky about it? I know it's none of my business...........so it's a rhetorical question. Good luck

Ally - if you really were in that bad of a bind ...there is no way you'd be thinking of buying a dog - you'd go to the pound - where there's lots that need homes for FREE. I have a feeling you're going to try breeding so your dog is making your money for you - and I feel sorry for your dog. and yes we ARE nice here - but no one likes getting conned with a sad story - we all have them.... but when we had tough times - I doubt many of us went out and bought expensive dogs.

| Wow! What a thread! I agree with everyone elses posts......sorry! I am in a bind for money too....I don't work, homeschool, etc...and even though I would LOVE to buy another Yorkie, there is no way I could right now....especially with the holidays coming up! I know many of us could use extra cash or extra income (especially before the holidays), but I am sure we have all come up with it without asking for donations from people. Try eBay or something like that....I always do good there! Good luck!

| So heres the deal...i got my dog for $100. Thats all I payed for her and we couldnt even afford that but because I was looking for so long for a dog and she just happened to be in my town (which never happens) he let me buy her and because of it we are overdrawn. I am NOT trying to con or scam anyone. The other post is to see if anyone had a dog that was cheap that I might buy for fergie to have a playmate. At our local pound which is all we have here, there is only big dogs. No one around here takes little breed dogs to the pound. And the pound sells their dogs and most of the time, they are sick. I know this because I used to volenteer there. And for buying another dog, my sister in law was the one that was going to pay for it. You all cant assume things. And i dont get why you all think that im asking for donations for my dog. I was just thinking that if anyone had any extra and they were nice enough to help me out then that would be great. No sad story, no charity case, and im not trying to get you all to pay my bills. And as far as breeding my dog, yes i am going to breed her ONCE but only because the deal when i bought her was that when she is old enough, i have to breed her with the male from the lady i got her from so she can have a pup. thats it. I was just trying to see if anyone would be willing to help and if people didnt want to help then i would assume its a bad idea and forget it. you all didnt have to be so rude to me about it without even knowing who i am. a general answer saying that you didnt have anything or that you thought it was a bad idea would have been all you needed to say, not acuse me of being a con or scammer. thanks all for ruining my yt experience...i hope that there is some people out there that still think that im a normal person and i just want to be here to talk about yorkies. Forget i even brought the idea of the doggy thing up. didnt think it would turn into an uproar. SORRY |
