| we have and love the Drinkwell fountain here,,before getting it,, Cricket didnt drink enough water to suit me,, and she only drank bottled water,, after getting the water fountain,, and now with 3 Yorkies,, its very good for us,, they all drink lots and love the running water, ,and only occasionally will one decide they want to play in it,, and thats generally after they drop something in,, and as for me, ,its easy to clean,, which i generally do one a week,, i simply add water to it daily by pouring into the bowl,, we love it and highly recommend it!

| I just got Sophie the Petmate Deluxe Fresh Flow Fountain about two weeks ago. I loved it but she was scared to death of it. She did drink some but her little legs would tremble and sometimes she would dance around the kitchen until we gave her a bowl of water. I just gave up and gave her water dishes back to her. I thought it was great though. The reservoir never got that slimy feel like the bowls get. I wonder if anyone would buy a used fountain on ebay or something. I hate to see it go to waste.

| I had one that I got for my cats before I got Bitsy. The cats loved drinking out of it, but it was such a PITA to clean and fill, even though I only really needed to clean it once a week. I had the fountain for about a year then the motor died. I now use three regular water bowls that I fill and clean once a day, and I find it so much easier and cleaner. Another important thing about using a regular bowl is that you can actually monitor how much your pet is drinking. With the fountain, I never knew how much water was actually being drunk.

| I bragged so much about how I liked this thing, but I really hate it now..lol Its hard to clean and after about 2 days its nasty! So I through it away the other day and using a regular water bowl is sooo much better. |

| Wow. I've had my 2 Yorkies for 3 years now and wish I found a product review forum earlier!! A friend of mine has the drinkwell fountains--good in principle to filter and aerate the water, but I disliked the constant sound of pouring water....I was always checking to make sure my Yorkies weren't peeing on my friend's floor! I prefer the PetMate fountain that I purchased at PetCo. The water flows down a 'slide' into the bowl so it is completely silent. Negatives for the PetMate--pump isn't strong enough to filter all the little particles that land in the bowl; and to wash the bowl you have to take the entire plug and cord with you, rather than simply disconnecting it from the bowl. Washing (every 3-4 days)--it can be a pain to get in the back compartments, etc. For the 50+ dollars I paid, I would say that I much prefer the simplicity of laying a clean bowl of water down twice a day and sticking them in the dishwasher before bed. | I have one because my 2 cats would make me turn on the tub or sink faucet every time they wanted a drink. Or they would drink out of the toilet if the seat were left up and no one would turn on their water. Now all the critters use the Drinkwell. I love it.
