| ![]() I use lots of stuff haha ![]() I use just normal nylon step-in harness for Fido in the moment, I just ordered a leather spiked harness for him (like is used on pitt bulls and rotties) so I can't wait to get it and try it out ! With the collars, I use a leather spiked collar for him inside. On regular walks downtown or on some other place where there are some people I use his martingale collar cause he pulls then but if there aren't many people and I let him run around I use his nylon harness. I dont like to always use a harness cause then he starts pulling so much. I have a martingale collar for him like this one and I love it ! It is not so tight that he hurts his throat I have it in that size so he doesnt hurt of it , but when he pulls it gets real tight but it does not choke him or anything http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqF,!h8E2I+UCyWsBNrwD6sbB!~~_35.JPG Isnt it OK to use a martingale on yorkies? I've heard about those trachea proplems, he doesnt have that proplem I've always used normal collars and martingales since I got him and his breeder with his dogs too, no yorkie breeder here uses harnesses but also they dont walk theyr yorkies on leash often, my breeder uses martingale collars but they are made of nylon, Fido's martingale is made of chain. What kind of collars or harnesses do you all use and like the best? What do you all reccomand for pullers?

| ![]() The picture didn't work: Martingale Show Double Chain Dog Collars~Chrome~24 inch | eBay I use this kind of collar most often for walks, except if I'm letting him run in a flexi leash then I use a harness.

| ![]() For collars, I use a cat break away collar. They're break away because I dont want him getting stuck on something and hurting himself trying to get free. The collar is used for his bell and ID only. It's cotton, washable, soft, and I have a dozen of them. I have so many because the vet made a comment about putting on a dirty collar is like putting on dirty underwear after a bath. I now change his collar after every bath. ![]() For harness, we're now trying a buddy belt. He's only used it a few times. I like it. The leather hasn't chafed or caused rope burn like a nylon harness has in the past. He's a major puller, and this harness so far has been nice to his skin. Plus he's getting better at walking calmly in large crowds. ![]() I also wanted to clarify something about breakaway collars as some people question their purpose. In the year Kaji has been using breakaways it has fallen off only twice. Once when he was being naughty in the kitchen trying to get into the trash. He got caught on a handle and the collar fell off instead of choking him. The other time he was in the car; something spooked him, he completely flipped out and somehow managed to get the collar stuck on the handbreak. In everyday wear, they stay on perfectly. They hold his tags, and bell. The breakaway is just in case he gets stuck on something. Just like the tags are just in case he gets lost, and the microchip is in case he gets stolen.

| ![]() We use both step in harnesses and vest harnesses. They wear kitty collars for their tags. |

| ![]() Collar -- he has a lot of different collars. For most every day use, I go for the typical fabric collars in 5/8" width or 3/4" width. They seem the most comfortable. He's got a few nylon collars as well that I like. I've got two nice leather collars but those are mostly for "show". As far as harnesses go, Puppia is our go-to harness and what we use the most. I also have been using the leather Choke-Free harness lately and been pretty happy with it.

| ![]() I know bi sometimes find them hard to explain. They're sturdy in that they don't fall off very easily, but when you need then to fall off, they do. Especially without hurting the wearer. Plus, they're super inexpensive. I bought two lots of I don't remember how many (maybe 20?) for less than $8. The girly ones I gave away to Missy. One or two I sent to a new member that wanted to try them, and the rest I kept. I still have 12-14 in Kaji's rotation, not including the holiday ones that came I the lot. I have 2 that would work for patriotic holidays, and a Christmas one. They were really a very good buy!

| ![]() I can't use cat collars on Fido they are too small for him ![]() He has never got stuck somewhere with his collar, also he's always just in my room very little in other places in the house cause he barks all the time if he's outside my room, there are no places he can get his collar over and attached too, also inside I most often have the collar so loose that he can take it off if he would get stuck somewhere ![]() He doesnt run free or anything often and I always go outside with him in a leash, he can't get stuck anywhere with the collar so I don't think we need breakaway collars?

| ![]() Nancy is right. Kaji wears it all the time because I need to know where he is. He's naughty and likes to go dumpster diving at night. I'm a light sleeper and the bells are enough to wake me up and catch him before he gets to the kitchen so I can correct him. As far as size, Kaji wears the kitten sizes because the cat ones are too big. I bought cat breakaways for my friend's 20 lb poodle mix. They fit him just fine.

| ![]() I am a collar addict I recently found etsy.com and I love it because Callie has a bigger neck and although the bigger size lilpals collars fit her they dont allow much room for when her hair when it is really fluffy and I dont like anything thicker then a 3/8" because it doesn't seem comfy on her so a lot of people on etsy custom make there collars and will make the right size for Callie and Sammy lol. I only use a collar for her tags and the jingle noise is something I love because I can hear her and where she is and what shes doing and I know if she gets up in the middle of the night or anything. When using the leash I use a buddy belt harness always.

| ![]() Thanks everyone for the answers ! I'm getting my new harness soon , this one: ADORABLE!!! Small leather Harness!!! Lots to Choose!!! | eBay I'm gonna see how it works when I get it ! The one I have already is just a plain black nylon harness I got at some dollar store and I dont trust it a bit so I almost never use it :/ Im afraid of it breaking cause it isnt really strong. How do you all like the harness he's getting ? has anyone bought this one before and how was it?
