| Anyone have a pattern for a harness/vest? I tried this one.. I love the way this one looks, and I've seen allot of people using the same design on etsy and other places.. my only concern is because the design velcros both around the neck and around the belly there is a chance that some tension is placed around her neck. Maybe I'm being paranoid, I make sure to sew the D ring down on her back so it's pulling from her waist not her neck.. But if there are other patterns/styles that work better I would like to try them out and see what works best. |

That little red white and blue is adorable!!! I have a pattern I bought that has the same concept except that it velcros on the side and not under the neck. I haven't made it yet but I am spending my weekend sewing. Walmart had a lot of their fabric on clearance so I was buying it up. My husband just sighed and walked away-he says if the dogs are this spoiled, how bad is it going to be when we have a baby?? Lol

| Thanks!! It looks like the McCalls pattern adds a piece in the middle to keep it from pulling up on the neck.. I like that idea, I might try modifying what I have to see if that solves my issue. Thanks!! Oh and yeah, it's just as bad with a baby, though I sew a lot LESS for my daughter than for my dog.. baby and kids clothes are easy to find pre-made and cute.. most dog clothes are expensive and cheesy in the stores and not very functional since they don't usually incorporate a harness. Not sure how big your fur babies are, but I found that I can buy the quilt squares and it's enough for a dress or two, (for my tiny baby it could make 4 dresses, but I made another set for an adult dog of a friend of mines as well) I went to JoAnns and paid I think 75 cents for the fabric I used for the 4th of July dress since they have them on sale. |

| I've made a few like the ones at the top and they seem to work really well. And it's definitely cheaper to DIY. Check out bandanas as a fabric source also. They're generally no more than a buck or two and come in all sorts of cool prints. I did these two for our trip to Ft. Worth earlier this year, used bandanas to line a lightweight denim. Turned out kinda cute if I do say so myself Bandana vests.jpg |

I want to make a cheerleader dress for Betty Boop this year. Better yet, do you make and sell them? I would be interested if you did. We are big Cowboy fans here in Waco! Do you have a pattern number of an easy one? Thanks!

| Little cheerleader dresses are easy to make and so cute. I made and sold tons of them on ebay last fall. I just did the basic harness for the top and did a box pleat skirt. They are really cute and you can get the iron on letters at walmart to put the team initials on the harness.

So you have a pattern for the cheerleader dress and harness? Just wondering...you all make it sound so simple...but it looks hard! I want to give it a try and see how it turns out.

I don't have a pattern...I made my own from an exsisting harness for the bodice (make sure and cut a little larger than exsisting harness to allow for seams) and just cut out squares of fabric in alternating colors (think checkerboard) I don't know how to give instructions on the box pleating, but it is pretty simple and you can probably google box pleats for step by step instructions
