Oh and yeah, it's just as bad with a baby, though I sew a lot LESS for my daughter than for my dog.. baby and kids clothes are easy to find pre-made and cute.. most dog clothes are expensive and cheesy in the stores and not very functional since they don't usually incorporate a harness.
Not sure how big your fur babies are, but I found that I can buy the quilt squares and it's enough for a dress or two, (for my tiny baby it could make 4 dresses, but I made another set for an adult dog of a friend of mines as well) I went to JoAnns and paid I think 75 cents for the fabric I used for the 4th of July dress since they have them on sale. |
Noah is 1.2 pounds, but he's only 12 weeks. Allie is 3.2 and she's 6 months. Walmart had pre packaged material 2 yards for 1.20-2.70 depending on the patterns. I did pick up some quilt blocks as well, since they were clearances .30 cents. I got lots of cute stuff and will post some pics. I'll try out the pattern for the harness and see how it goes. I could always scan it in and send it to you, but it would definitelynhave to be scaled down for your little one.
I'm making OU vests for my moms malt-chi, my friends yorkie and noah, and a dress for Allie too. I love the little cheerleader dresses lol. Your baby needs a cheerleader dress too!!
