I would not trust this company. I ordered the Rascal Dog Litter Box. I believe they offer same day shipping??? I know that I received mine very quickly. I may have spent a little more (around $30) , but I feel that I dealt with a reputable company who delivered my product to me!
Also, the box has sides so my little guy can't tinkle over the edge!
That's the same thing I have read on several blogs. Not sure if their getting more orders then they can handle?? But their definitely going to get a bad rap sheet with the BBB...

I read the same but when someone finally investigated it... The company was not charging people til it was shipped out and the first advertisments on TV were to test if people would buy them. I heard since last month they have not had problems.

I personally think $70 plus $12 for shipping is a bit much for something that small. $40 is a good price as long as it works... But once we move I plan on purchasing the parts to make my own. A potty box with sides you can get at Walmart for $14 plus the grate underneath which is like $5-7 and the grass which is about $4-6 a square foot. (cheaper on eBay) That is under $30 for the EXACT same thing. The big seller on some of this things is the grass attracts them... But you can buy a bottle of that stuff, plus you can throw the grass in the washer and wash it. ( I have looked at the different grasses and one has a fabric backing the other is rubber with drainage holes, you want the second one). I'll post pictures when I make it

Would you happen to have a link where you can get the grass with the drainage holes? Thanks

Just wondering how your potty patch is working out? Is it easy to clean and can the grass go in the washer?

I'm very happy with mine. It was only $40 and it did take awhile - I think it was 3 weeks but they didn't charge me until it shipped and it did say it would take 4 wks so it was actually a little sooner than I expected. I wouldn't put it in the washer but I would spray with a bleach cleaner and hose off outside. So far I've only cleaned the base which looks like a boot tray. There is also another plastic piece that fits in the tray and then the grass goes on top of that so that the pee goes down into the tray. I have puppies that I'm training using this and they seem to be doing pretty well with it.

Default Oh yeah!

PLEASE let us know how it is, I've been toying with the idea on getting one for a while. My babies are outside trained BUT it snows sometimes and they HATE the heat! So this would be great (if it works)

Thanks in Advance!

Default Make your own "Potty Patch" cheap and easy

Make your own!!!
Back in 1992 when my new Chihuahua' pups were just 8 week & 10 weeks old, we set out for a week vacation and would be enroute for a 16 hour RV ride to Daytona Speedway, Since we didn't want to stop frequently, our resolution was to buy 2 large cookie sheets & two pieces of sod. That's right, real grass at your local co-op for $2.50! The oldest pup has paper trained when we got her and she was an immediate convert and the other pup just followed her lead.

Because that worked so perfectly, in '95 when Peso has her first litter, I took two underbed storage boxes, made a cut-through from one to the other and then taped them together. As the pups started moving to the end of their crate to eliminate, their natural instinct to distance themselves led them to the sod. As that piece got 'dirty' I would take it outside and replace it with a fresh piece. Later when it came time to teach them to go outside, I took them to the 'used' sod and in no time they were 'outside trained'. In all the many litters since, I have never had had a 'paper trained' dog or house training problems on any pups ever and the buyers have always been tickled to get a pup that is outside ready! My babies are all oldsters now, 17, 15, 15 and 14 and my next pup will be a Yorkie. I look forward to reading your posts. Thank you and Good luck!

Personally, I think the real grass/sod would get really smelly really fast. The fake grass does but I throw it in the tub, spray some bleach on it and let it sit and then rinse really good and put outside to dry in the sun. My puppies are doing a great job with it! I highly recommend it. I use a pee pad underneath the grass as with puppies, they pee so little that by the time I get to clean it, it has dried on the bottom. I only have to change the pee pad like once a week as most of the pee actually gets stopped in the grass but I'm sure that will change with time. You certanly could get the fake grass but I have not been able to find it anywhere locally and to buy at homedepot you have to buy a large section - it is sold like carpeting. I don't want to pay in excess of $100 and don't have a place to store it but I would consider going in on it with someone else! I think it was definately worth the $40 - by the way, it's the Potty Patch that I have.

hmm ... thanks for the advice! Im thinking that $40 would be cheaper than if I tried to make it.. I am pretty handy but they supplies will equal more than 40 I think lol. So maybe I will buy the one you suggested and give it a try. Do you eventually have to buy a new fake grass piece for this? I cant imagine it would hold out for more than a year right?

Default Potty Patch

Could you guys tell me where you got a potty patch for $40 or even $70? I've been looking at one I saw in the Skymall magazine. It was $149. If I can get get one for much less, I'm very interested. The one in Skymall is 2 inches high, 30 inches wide, and 20 inches long. Sounds like a rip off compared to what some of you paid for your's. Tucker's Mom

Just and FYI - if you read this entire blog the OP of the blog posted an apology and her resolution.
