I agree, there is no excuse for that. God forbid she wait for them to air dry, or use a regular blow dryer :rolleyes

Again, it's all about the money. If she were a caring groomer she
would not have two dogs in the dryer and at least one on the table
loosing track of the ones in the dryer! They should put her in the
damn dryer and forget about her! What a horror story that was.

What a terrible thing to happen. It makes me so MAD and very sad to hear what some people do to animals. What would they think if some0ne did that to them......Some people have NO heart!

I get nervous when I am using my hand dryer on my baby. Let alone a big metal unit. I am new to the Illinois area and I am searching for a groomer. I always ask if they use those type of dryers. If anyone know of a good groomer in the Rockford, IL area, please let me know.

this is EXACTLY why we DO NOT USE HOT BLOW DRYERS at our groom shop. The ONLY one that blows a bit of heat is what we call our "force dryer" that we use right after their bath the "force" majority of water off of their bodies before putting them in crates where we use fans that blow nothing but room temperature air through them. More groomers should use this method. There is just TOO much risk in using heated dryer crates. *tisk, tisk*

GOOD FOR YOUR GROOMER!!! That is how we work. By APPOINTMENT only, and only however many we can handle in a day that we can fit in with the drying time of useing a fan. I'm so glad there is another groomer out there like that!

This story makes me stick to my stomach. My little Tony will never, ever, ever be victem to that kind of torture, I urge everyone out there to make you little one's appointment with their groomer at a time where you can be there too. It seems that, that is the only way to assure the safety of our little ones. The groomer will never love, or care for you little one the way that you do.

I HARSHLY dissagree with your last statement. That personally offends me. Many of my clients actually call me their dog's "other momma". You can't say that about every groomer.

And the only problem with owners staying is that majority of dogs do WORSE when their momma's are there. I WORK with another groomer and I don't even stay in the room when she grooms my babies (not that they ever give tourble anyway). They sit still, cooperate, and aren't worried of "omg where is my mom omg where did my mom go?!" It just creates more stress for the dog and the groomer.

I think that it is partly our responsibility as owners to find a groomer that we trust and that we KNOW will take good care of our babies.

I can say personally that our groomer does love Simon and Hallie and treats them so wonderfully. She is amazing, will kiss them and give them treats and spend extra time with them. I've seen her do all of this and that is why I have no doubts at all when they get groomed.

You're right it is. I honestly wish more people would call and ask us what kind of shampoos we use, what dryers we use, how big are crates are, how many we typically do in a day, what we do if a dog tries to bite, precautions we take, etc., etc. And when people do ask, we're always more than willing to answer. These babies are more than just clients. To me they're the same as my petsitting clients. They are other furchildren of mine. That's exactly how I treat them.

Dear God - that's horrible. Just sickening and I can't believe any groomer would be THAT freakin irresponsible - I don't care how distracted anyone gets - you just do NOT mess with electricity and pets. They should do jail time for EXTREME ABUSE ! CAn you just imagine how those poor dogs suffered ?
