| Sounds like he is training you! Crate him for a couple of hours, then take him outside on a leash. He will get bored on the leash and eventually do his business. If he doesn't do it in 5 minutes, put him back in the crate for 30 minutes and then repeat the outside on the leash part. Keep doing this and forget the pee pads. When he does go potty....go crazy with praise and a treat. He'll get it! Having said all this, I haven't been doing this with Lexy because of my knee surgery. I was going to do it with her all weekend, but it rained all weekend, and I thought I'd wait until the weather is good. I'm also gonna hang a bell from the back door and ring it everytime we go out so she'll learn to signal us that way. Hang in there and I will too! We'll get 'em trained!

| well my schedule really doesn't warnt what you said. I'm not here enough for him to be walked outside. I only put him in his cage when I go to school which usually is around 4-5 hours and if i go out after school then its longer. I"m not home all day with him so its hard. I tried the walking thing he does nothing. He was doing so good with the wee wee pads when I first got him but not anymore. I am going to another store tomorrow to get his food and see if they have that stuff where you put outside to help them. UGH he just peed on the rug again damn it! I put him in his cage even though I just got home but i've had it! |

| Puppies need your time. Don't expect him to know what to do when he is a baby and you are gone so much. Maybe over the weekend you can really concentrate on his training. Good luck!

| Give him to me... Sorry couldn't resist sami is a week away from being 6 months and he still isn't potty trained and he will tear up his pads as well I don't have a logical answer for this but I wanted to ensure you that you are not alone with this issue! I think alot of us are still dealing with potty training. I read in one of the threads that a 2 year old yorkie is in diapers still, so hang in there! he needs you!! when I catch sami in the act he gives me this really dumb look like what !! he's scolded and doesn't even know why he is being I really think he is immature!! he's a little slow goodluck but do hang in there |

| Fred is 6 months and he's still having potty issues. He knows when he does something bad, though. It might be harder for you because you got him at a later age. From what I heard, the older they get the harder they are to train. and in addition, you got him from a pet store which might have added on to the difficulty. But, that doesn't mean you should give up. I am really persistant with Fred and I think he's catching on. I can see the progess. We don't take him outside but instead use peepee pads like you do. You just have to be patient. Like Eensor said, they don't catch on RIGHT away! |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Sorry if I sound rude, but if you can't devote the time to him then maybe he should be with someone that can. I know that you are busy with school and I'm all for finishing school. First things first and that is your education. However, it isn't fair to Mickey. For you, you think that at 7 months he should be house trained, but in honestly, he doesn't know any better. It's taken Chester almost 2 years to be completely house trained. Maybe you should reconsider owning him.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Is Mickey the one that you are using in your avatar? If that is him, he is precious and I'm sure that someone out there would be more than happy to give him a home. How much do you want for him???
