| ![]() This is a treat that promotes good coat care.... Satin Balls is a formula that promotes coat and weight on dogs, it is also used for very picky eaters. I have never seen a dog turn up their nose at them. Mix together: 1 lb. hamburger (very cheap with high fat content) 1 1/3 cup Total cereal, 1 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 large egg, 1/2 cup wheat germ, 1 pkg Knox gelatin, 2 T. cooking oil (I use coconut oil), 2 T. molasses. I also add 2 or 3 T. Mirra Coat supplement (or whatever supplement you may have), 2 or 3 T Malt ( like you put into icecream to make malts, we use Ovaltine Malt). Make balls (I make each ball about 1/4 cup and can get 2 into a ziplock snack baggie.) and freeze. We laid ours on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper, when it was filled layer another piece of wax paper and then balls and freeze. Once frozen then place them in baggies and keep in freezer until ready for use, thaw in microwave just until not frozen. DO NOT COOK!!! The lady we got this recipe from says she splits 1 ball between 4 chins and 3 chihuahuas every day. Start out with a very small amount and build up slowly, it is VERY rich and can give them diarrea. I feel this could be split between same amount of yorkies. Enjoy!!! ![]() |

| ![]() Hello there, I have two little picky eaters here. I have gone through alot of money trying all sort of food for them. They like it for a week and then they turn up their little picky noses. I have found something that is great. I have learned to serve it a way that they lick their plates. It might be hard to find but he does have a web site. You will not be sorry. Its well worth the trouble. It come in mason jars and is human grade. The name is Michaels soul stew. It comes in a variety of flavors. My little ones love beef. I mix with a little ground sirloin and I use Organics by nature dry kibble. Its so tiny when mixed with the stew and sirloin really good they just eat it all. My little ones used to spit out the kibble but now there is nothing left. Everything is eaten. I hope this helps. Web site for dry kibble is By Nature™ - Naturally, Nutritionally Complete Natural and Organic Dog and Cat Food and for soul stew is Michael J.. good luck!

| ![]() I have a new recipe for foolproof liver treats. I call them "Braunie Bites." Ingredients: Braunschweiger liver sandwich spread, flour. 1. Slice the Braunschweiger into 1/2 slices, then cut into little pieces. 2. Roll the pieces in flour to dust them and keep them from sticking together. 3. Put them into small bags or containers. Refrigerate one for use and freeze the rest. How's that for easy? I feed home-made meals to my Yorkies, but I'm not good at adding in organ meats, which provide valuable minerals. I add a vitamin/mineral supplement to the food. I don't like to feed dog liver treats because I don't trust the ingredients and they are mostly flour anyway. So this way I can supplement my dogs' diet with liver. Be careful not to feed too many treats! They are high in fat.

| ![]() yeah...i think i hit the perfect recipe for Smokey....so far so good........... I cooked some venison(deer meat)......some chopped carrots(very very fine)...and so instant potato flakes.......mixed with Chicken Broth....he eat over half of what i gave him before he walked away....he usually just eats a bit or two of even his favorite foods at a time....he is spoiled to being pretty much hand fed....he even eats his dry kibble just a few at a time......i hope he keeps liking this....cause im getting really scared of the pet foods that are out there....gonna go this weekend and try to find a doggy vitamin that i think he would actually take(eat)....

| ![]() I have heard dehydrated sweet potatoes are ok to give to pup with compromised liver. I have heard they are a great alternative to rawhide chews. Anyone have instructions or recipe to do myself with dehydrator? ![]()

| ![]() Hello! after reading all the threads and web sites,I admit that I am even more confused...I always gave Eukanuba dry food for my little Dolly (7 years old now) and i read today not very good things about it on the internet. I'm in the UAE so i don't have much access to all the brands. ![]() I would like to feed her home made food in a daily basis very balanced with all the vitamines required... Some say cook without graind, other with grains... ![]() I was thinking of doing the following: Chicke or beef Carrot Sweet potato Brocoli everything shopped and boiled with mineral water. Is that enough for her to eat every day?Should i add something else??? Can i mix with a little bit of dry food? Thank you! |
