| I just got a recipe for Satin Balls but it uses 10 lbs of hamburger. I am very happy to find this one. Thanks for posting it. Sylvia Quote:

Mix together: 1 lb. hamburger (very cheap with high fat content) 1 1/3 cup Total cereal, 1 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 large egg, 1/2 cup wheat germ, 1 pkg Knox gelatin, 2 T. cooking oil (I use coconut oil), 2 T. molasses. I also add 2 or 3 T. Mirra Coat supplement (or whatever supplement you may have), 2 or 3 T Malt ( like you put into icecream to make malts, we use Ovaltine Malt). Make balls (I make each ball about 1/4 cup and can get 2 into a ziplock snack baggie.) and freeze. We laid ours on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper, when it was filled layer another piece of wax paper and then balls and freeze. Once frozen then place them in baggies and keep in freezer until ready for use, thaw in microwave just until not frozen. DO NOT COOK!!! The lady we got this recipe from says she splits 1 ball between 4 chins and 3 chihuahuas every day. Start out with a very small amount and build up slowly, it is VERY rich and can give them diarrea. I feel this could be split between same amount of yorkies. Enjoy!!! | |
