well i had max in wellness for a few days know mixing it with kibbles and bits he loves the kibbles and he will not eat the wellness no matter what i do to it iv tries every thing but i still put them both in his dish i come to see that the kibbles are gone and all the wellness is still in the bowl so one day i only put the wellness in his dishb and left it there fron morning till late afternoon with no kibbles in the bowl bacause iv heard that a dog will not let them self go hungry but he did not even eat a peice of the wellness and i gave him the kibbles to see and of corse he just gobbled it right down know 2 days later he is acting different hwe wont eat ay thnig he is very tired lazy does not do much of any thing he is almost 6 months old could he maybe be going through something like a growth spitr and wants to relax alot


please right back soon any one with any thing to kelp

Alos how bad is kibbles and bits really because if they were that bad why would he keep making so many different kinds and not be off the shelf it it harms puppys and grown dogs

i was using eukanuba but know i use pedigree puppy and that is pretty good stuff and not at all expsensive at walmart big bag is 8.00

Kibbles and Bits are not the best for sure, but neither is Pedigree. Look for comparison sites online and it is easier to make a choice. Here are some examples; two economy brands and three premium brands. I had to list adult foods as I did not have all the info on each brand's puppy food but you can easily get the idea. Remember that each ingredient is listed in order of percentage of content. So, you can usually look at the first 5-10 ingredients and know if you want to feed it to your dog. Too much corn or wheat is a red flag. Look for foods that say they have human grade contents. I know I would not want to eat chicken byproduct meal .... uck!

As you can see there is a huge difference! Try to stick with the premium foods like Canidae, Innova, Blue Buffalo, Chicken Soup fo rthe Puppy Lover's Soul, Natural Balance, Wellness, Flint River, Solid Gold, Life's Abundance, Timberwolf, ... I know I am missing some but you get the idea.

I have also read some excellent advice about either mixing a couple or switching every 3 months or so to really get a well-rounded nutrition. That made sense to me.

okay thanks for all that but the big thing is that no matter what high premium kind that i give max he will not eat it he will only eat the kibbles he wonty even eat prena i have tried many different kinds good thing the refunded my money on the high preium kinds at the vet and pet stores because iv spent over 150.oo on different kind i donr evey thing to the food to try to get him to eat it he will eat the first few peices because its new but then he will stop i even only put the wellness and other kinds iv tried in his dish he would not eat at all he does not like any other kind please help maybe when he gets older i can try if yuo have any other advice let me know iv heard that he wont want to eat the healthier kind bacause it does not taste as good

My Jaxson is on Wellness. I have to break the pieces up with my salt shaker because they are too big and mix it with the Wellness wet food. He won't eat it dry. He also won't eat it if it sits out too long and turns darker. I have to throw away what's left and make it fresh all over again I swear he is a DIVA DOG.

Try a different food than. He might not like the wellness, but might like something else. Unfortunately the process becomes a bit expensive. Try giving Max some boiled chicken with rice for now just so he can get some food in his tummy. Than gradually mix in the food you plan to utilize.

My Maxwell started on Science Diet, had diahrea, went to chicken n rice
became better. Than started mixing in Solid Gold, got diahrea again, went on
Prescriptions DD and ID can food, this food is bland for sensitive stomachs diahrea gone, mixed in some solid gold dry food, got diahrea again, has it now ! So Im gonna keep him on the prescriptions food for now, to we can have some consistency going.

If all else fails get that sugary tube from your vet he will eat that
if he is not eating at leat one small strip of that jelly with sugar will keep him
going, you don't want sugar shock. Im not an expert just relaying what my vet told me. That tube is good to have around (just in case)
