Kibbles and Bits are not the best for sure, but neither is Pedigree. Look for comparison sites online and it is easier to make a choice. Here are some examples; two economy brands and three premium brands. I had to list adult foods as I did not have all the info on each brand's puppy food but you can easily get the idea. Remember that each ingredient is listed in order of percentage of content. So, you can usually look at the first 5-10 ingredients and know if you want to feed it to your dog. Too much corn or wheat is a red flag. Look for foods that say they have human grade contents. I know I would not want to eat chicken byproduct meal .... uck!

As you can see there is a huge difference! Try to stick with the premium foods like Canidae, Innova, Blue Buffalo, Chicken Soup fo rthe Puppy Lover's Soul, Natural Balance, Wellness, Flint River, Solid Gold, Life's Abundance, Timberwolf, ... I know I am missing some but you get the idea.

I have also read some excellent advice about either mixing a couple or switching every 3 months or so to really get a well-rounded nutrition. That made sense to me.
