Well I just wanted to do a follow up on Sedrick now that it is 7 weeks since we have had him back at home.
Well he is doing great and is spoiled rotten but in a good way.
He brings joy to us everyday. We took him on a 3 km walk yesterday here in winnipeg for the humane society and he did great.
On Saturday we took him fishing for the first time you can see is face to face meeting with one of the catfish we caught. and the other is just a photo of him showing how lots of love and attention can be amazing results.
With all the sad news over the last week here on yorkie talk our hearts go out to everone who is affected. We just wanted to put a positive report.

Im so happy that Sedrick is doing so well. Thank you so much for sharing the pics. The pics are priceless. I love the second pi. He looks so cute, I love the way his hair looks on his ears. Im so happy to hear some good news.

Bakerylady, Sedrick is just adorable! Those pix are priceless. Don't you know he'd take on that big ole catfish in a heartbeat. I'm so glad he's doing better. What a wonderful report. Thanks for the update.

My heart goes out to you and your little Sedrick. I know EXACTLY what you are going thru because about 3 weeks ago now, my little guy, Tonka, was diagnosed with the very same thing, Atlanto Axial Subluxation. He presented with yelps for no reason, hanging his head low and not looking up at me or turning his head at all. He also walked with a sideways motion rather than straight forward. It was a heartwrenching situation and because of the statistics of this situation, I could not put him thru the very expensive surgery and the extensive pain that he would be going thru for the period of time he would have had to go thru it for. I admire you for being able to do this. Sedrick has very loving parents for sure. Again, I know what you're going thru...to the tee. God Bless you.

OMG!!! Poor baby!!! At least he is in good hands. The recovery will be a long process, but in the end, you will have the same ole' Sedrick back. Keep us updated. We are all concerned for him and you!!

Our hearts goes out to you. We were lucky to have the resources available at the time to take care of this. He means the world to us. How old was tonka? What a terrible thing to go through. You really find out how much they mean to you at that time. Sedrick had his cast removed today and we are thankful that he came through it like he did his spirit is great and with the help of a great bunch of surgeons he has come through his ordeal. He is just thrilled to have the cast off. We will post a couple pictures of him when he had his cast removed at the end of these posts.

He had his cast removed today and is a going concern. He has always been hi spirited but he is at a level we have never seen before. He has a little bit of a balance issue but that will correct itself in a week or so once he gets used to not having the cast on. Thank you for you concern and prayers

My little Tonka was just barely 6 months old when this happened. There was no trauma to him whatsoever that caused it. According to the vet, this can happen via genes. I informed his breeder of the situation and she did indeed issue a full refund, but the money wasn't the issue at all. My love and attachment to my Tonka was already there. He would just cry out in the middle of the night like he was having a very bad nightmare. During the day, he'd be walking across the floor and sometimes he'd stop and scream like something hurt him severely. We tried medication first...it worked until it wore off. Then we determined that the only way to fix it would be the surgery and because of the residual pain and problems later on in life, we decided the best thing for him was to put him to sleep. I have never felt so helpless in my life. God Bless you for being able to go thru this with Sedrick. He has great parents.
