| Sick from Missing Link??? There are tons of posts about Missing Link, but I'm wondering if anyone's dog has ever been sick from it? I started adding a sprinkle to Jaxon's dry food (free fed) on Saturday. Today he hasn't pooped and just threw up bile. Not like him at all. Anyone with a similar experience? He ate his breakfast this morning without any issues (canned food). He's resting now but wondering if the Missing Link could be upsetting his tummy. He went to the groomer's yesterday which probably stressed him out too, so maybe it's that but wanted to get your thoughts.

| Wow - I think that's similar to what happened to my Mia... but I wasn't sure if it was the Missing Link or if she licked something in our backyard. Last Wed I sprinkled about an 1/8th of teaspoon on Mia's food for the first time. Then I took her into the bathroom to brush her teeth, clean her face and comb out her eyes... all of a sudden she pushed herself backwards and just PUKED. Two seconds later she did it again. I set her down on the floor, stood behind her petting her and telling her that it was ok when she started having this foam come out of her mouth. She did that 2 more times. I washed her face a little and then I put her on my chest and just petted her calmly... a few minutes later she had a little stinky toot, so I put her on a pee pee pad and she had a squirt come out! She was just frozen in place.... I was sweating like a dog! I had to call my Mom to call my Hubby cuz my cell was dead and I couldn't think of his number. Finally Hubby got home, she wasn't puking or pooping anymore so we decided to wait for a little while to see if she did anything else. I took her in the bedroom with me, put her on a pillow with a blankie, waited an hour - then gave her some Pedialyte. After that she just stayed with me on her pillow - she never got up ALL night. the next morning, it was like nothing ever happened! I still haven't given her anymore Missing Link. I'll wait awhile and try it again. Gez, I hope Jaxon feels better.

| I don't know if it is the missing link or not. I give all of mine the missing link and have never had them get sick from it. It is even suppose to help them digest their food better and has even stopped one of my dogs from throwing up all the time. I don't know what it could be.

| Hmmmmmm, my Teddy seems to have gotten diarhea some with blood in it. Vet said she thinks it's the Missing Link. I changed his food and started missing link at the same time. So I don't know which it was. Changed over the food during about a weeks time all the time with missing link. By the end of the week we were doing all the new food (Natural Balance Premium) and 1/2 tsp of missing link. First part of the week he seemed fine. No changes at all. But toward the end of the week his poop became softer and softer until the morning we had the bloody diarhea. That was Saturday and he still has diarhea today (Wednesday) but no blood. Vet has already checked his stool and says she can find nothing wrong with it besides it's consistancy. We have since Saturday stayed with the new food and not given any Missing Link and still runny poop???? Anyone have any thoughts on this? He seems fine in all other ways except for he hasn't gained any weight this week...may have gone down a few ounces? I haven't weighed him yet. I think I'll do that now. The vet did, but her scale is always different than mine. I weigh him on a digital kitchen scale. Thanks for your thoughts! Kim and Teddy |

| I have no idea if Missing Link caused him to be sick. I do hope Jaxson is feeling better now. I know so many YT'ers use it so I asked my vet. He told me not too use it. Supplements are not necessary if the dog has a healthly appetite he said. So I never used it. He stated to stay away from any added fats. I use other products on his coat for the sheen. Feel better Jaxson. |

| It is possible you gave Jaxon too much too soon. The bag says to slowly work up to the recommended dosage, which for a 5 lb dog would be 1/2 tsp daily. Sissy has been on it for a month now and I'm only giving her 1/4 tsp now. I started with less than 1/16 (not much more than a small pinch) and slowly worked to 1/4 tsp over a two week time frame. Hope Jaxon is feeling better soon.

We went for a walk a litle while ago and he was very energetic, but still no poop (VERY weird). He's sleeping again now so we'll see what happens tonight.

| I hope Jaxon is feeling better soon!! BTW, I stated incorrectly in my post - it should have read 1/4 tsp daily - not 1/2 tsp!! And, I only give Sissy a little more than 1/8 tsp. Ooops!

| Jaxon seems fine and has been outside a few times (gated area below our deck). I can only assume he finally pooped. We'll see how things go tomorrow and hopefully he'll be back to his normal routine.

| missing link seems to have the opposite effect on cash. I free feed and he finishes what's in his bowl like every three days so i would just put half a tbsp of it and mix it in his food and he has gained .4lbs in two weeks and he poops like a maniac. I'm contantly picking up poop like 3-4 times a day (solid poop) i neglected to read the instructions carefully so i didn't do the gradual introduction but he was fine on it and by the time i realized i was supposed to introuce it gradually he had already gotten used to it but isn't fiber suposed to make you go? maybe you could try some pumpkin to make him go? or as someone suggested from a previous post the matchstick maneuver?

| Well thankfully, everything seems back to normal today. He went out this morning and did his usual business (pee and poop) so it seems ok. Phewf!! I was really worried.
