| ![]() Pinapple and papya both have some enzyme that makes the poo taste yucky. It's also in the meat tenderizer.

| ![]() I had a friend with a french bulldog that had coccidia and kept reinfecting himself by eating his own poop...He tried everything from quickly squirting very hot sauce on the poop, to the meat tenderizer, to pumpkin...Solid Gold SEP finally did the trick!

| ![]() I have 2 pugs and 1 of them has this problem but I have to treat both because the 1 that eats poop, he eats his brothers and his own.. ugggg. We have tried Deter, Hot Sauce, Stop eating poop and forbid. They all work for a little bit and then he goes back to eating it.. He will be 2 yrs. and the end of this month. They both eat high quality food. Its just something he can't break at least for now. |

| ![]() I'd caution anyone using meat tenderizer, Deter, Solid Gold SEP or like products that contain MSGs (or Glutamic Acid or monosodium glutomate). There are many adverse reactions associated with MSG consumption. MSGs are NOT healthy if consumed in large quantities. That is why many Chinese Restaurants which used to put MSGs in their food now advertise that their food is MSG-free. This is from a CNN article referencing a WebMD article and discusses human reactions to MSG but it seems that certain ingredients can cause reactions in both our pets and ourselves: Quote:

| ![]() Mine will never eat it outside, but if the weather is bad they will go on the pad and two of mine think it's a treat...yuk!!! I pick it up right away, but it hasn't stopped it and it's been 2 years at least. I've tried the Forbid and Distaste and nothing works. What about the pineapple juice. How much are we suppose to give them and how often without it upsetting their tummies?

| ![]() I have 4 dogs. Only one of them eats poop, but ONLY from one of our dogs!! I don't understand why in the world he only eats her poop & doesn't bother anyone elses'! They all eat the same dog food, so I think that is really weird!! He will actually stand with his nose on her bottom when she drops the poop & catches it before it hits the ground! I am completely grossed out by this!!!!! ![]()

| ![]() I'm going to try the pineapple juice. He doesn't do it that often anymore. My son says, Ma, Sammy's recylcing!! I didn't think it was too funny. Must be a male sense of humor thing. I had tried plain yogurt but that didn't work. |

| ![]() Yep! Out of the other 3 dogs, he only eats from the one dog! They all eat the same food, so I can't figure out why! Weird dog!

YT Addict | ![]() As a few people have said I would try pinneapple. You could buy the canned pineapple, but also buy fresh and cut it into small pieces. I have also heard of pumpkin. You can buy pumpkin puree in a can and give that to them. I puppy sat a golden retriever and he had a poop-eating problem. The owner had a pumpkin puree and I took less than a teaspoon and watered it down. Then I took a syringe and gave it to him, almost like a treat. I don't know if it was the pumpkin or it was a stage he just grew out of, but he stopped eating his poo in about 2 weeks.

| ![]() I tried the meat tenderizer, pineapple and pumpkin. Nothing worked. My big boy Hobbes will only eat my female Tessie's poop, unless I am very fast. My vet tells me Hobbes smells the undigested food and also trying to be the dominant dog over her. Calvin just smells poop but doesn't eat it.
