| It could be bites, or allergies. Let us know what the Vet has to say since your taking her in. |

| Sounds like it could be some kind of bite. Let's hope that it is something simple.

My furkids Donating Member | Sadie had a couple of little bumps on the back of her neck a couple of weeks ago. I just kept an eye on them...they went away. I believe they were bug bites...DAMN BUGS!

| The fleas are absolutely HORRIBLE right now. Whenever Hobbs starts scratching, that is when I know he has FLEAS! When I examine him when he's scratching, I always notice tiny red bumps all over. I assume they are flea bites. Maybe that is what Lexi's are, too. The bugs are exceptionally bad this season. |

| When Chachi had red bumps on him he had one flea on him and the vet said he is allergic to fleas and thats why he had the bumps. I didnt see the flea on him but the vet did but it was dying because of the Advantage on him.

Honestly, it would probably be better news if Lexi has fleas than something more serious like allergies or skin infection or something, you know?! At least you can clear up fleas really fast and learn to prevent them whereas if it is allergies, you may have to go through all kinds of tests, allergy shots, etc. What kind of flea preventative are you using? If it does turn out to be fleas and you are having a hard time controling them, please get in touch with me! I'll help you out! I promise I'm as freaked out about fleas as you are! | |

| Fleas Hi Gina! I hope you don't mind me talking about this on your thread - if you want me to move it or go PM, let me know. Rebecca - sounds like you're a wealth of information. I am completely freaked about fleas also. Luckilly in Colorado - we don't have the nice moist warm temps they like. However, I got a rescue dog this weekend from Kansas. He is a yorkie/papillon mix that I found on Petfinder - and picked up Friday from a rescue shelter. It's a really long story - but we brought him home and I found a flea on him . This was after he'd already checked out all the rooms, jumped on my kids beds (rubbing his face on everything) etc. I'd lived with a family who's cats had fleas - so I know what a flea infestation is like. The shelter person had given me a thing of Frontline - so I applied that on Saturday. I've washed all my kids bedding and sprayed carpets and the furniture with Zodiac FleaTrol and vacuumed - I'm just completely freaked. It's kind of sad because we just want to enjoy our new addition - but I don't want to let him in the carpeted area of the house until I know all is well. The other thing is - he was neutered last Monday - so can't be washed until Wednesday . I just want to clean him!!! So, once he's clean, how do I know it's safe to let him in the rest of the house? He's still itching behind his ear - but there shouldn't be anything biting him anymore right? I'm guessing the bite still itches? HELP!!! Jodi |
