| trimming their hair when should i trim my babies hair?? I know your suppose to keep the hair trimmed around their feet, ears and tail. but how short should it be...sometimes when he goes poop he has it stuck in the back of his hair and i try to wipe it with a baby wipe but sometimes it is dried up in his hair... And should i just trim around his tail or take him to a groomer? |

| And when you're through, Jerry, would you come over to my house and do Higgins? The only person who can do ANYTHING about that kid's hair is the groomer, and Higgins is NOT her favorite client. I don't know why he won't stand for it, but he sure doesn't want us to fool with his coat, no matter how sweet and gentle we are. He reminds me of my son who rejoiced in playing in mud puddles and getting really messy when he was little. Maybe it's a little boy thing and he'll outgrow it......although my son still doesn't mind being messy.....and he's 44! |

| It takes an army to hold Yoda down for hair cutting. He does let us pluck his ear hairs now, though. |

| It must be a male thing Maddie is an angel, she will let you do anything to her. I take them to a groomer about every 6-8 week and in between I do a little grooming. You need a team to hold Rudy, he is doing better. He is bad for the groomer, I bath him at home and she trims him. I stay there were he can't see me. He hates to be put in a kennel. I use to leave him and they ask if I could just bring him and wait because he would get all the other dogs to bark. He is a sweet dog and I love him to death, but he is a little toot. Theres little personalities can be so different. He is an angel, when he's is sleeping .........Cindy |

| If anyone has the answer to easy trimming, I'd like to know it. My puppy needs to have her ears, paws and butt trimmed. Even around the nose because there's always fur in her eyes. I purchased the smallest Wahl trimmer - battery operated. I put the guard on it, turned it on and put it in her bed so she could get used to it. After a while she was pushing it around with her paws and nose but if you try to trim her with it...well let's just say she's horrified. |

| you got her used to the noise of the trimmer, but not the sensation of it. when I started grooming mine and they did not know the trimmer, I would hold it in my hand and rest my had against them again and again until they quit pulling away from it, then I laikd the trimmer against their body and moved it around. It took a while, but they did get used to it, and now my male falls asleep while I am trimming his ears. course my wild child female Minnie is another story altogether. She is my houdini gal. |

| Two of us together have to hold our little guy down just to do trim anything on him. It's quite a chore, but I'd rather do it ourselves than have some stranger do it. But we do take Yoda to a groomer once in a while. Little things we can do ourselves, but it takes all of our energy to make sure Yoda doesn't move and get nicked! |

| You guys are too funny. I sure enjoy reading this forum. I used to take an army for Cosita. ...... now she sleeps through the grooming.. I don't know what got into her now. When I am all done, I say: "All done".. and she runs from one to the other side of the room. Then she feels like peeing... and tips toe to the grass, pees, and tips toe back in the house like she does not want to get dirty -R |

| I will never attempt to cut my tea-cups hair because I'm way too scared I'll hurt him. I had 3 Carin Terriers, which are way bigger, and even they would get scrached here and there when he trimed them. So off to Petsmart dog grooming he will go : ) |

I want my baby to be clean since he cuddles with us in bed a lot and sits on our laps. How short does everyone else keep their baby's hair in that area? | |

| Hello frankiesmommy and all: I do the grooming myself to Cosita. With an electric shaver, I shave the tips or her hair, between her toes, and around her "butt". She never has poopoo sticking out or anything, however, every now and then I like to bathe her bottom cuz when she goes pee she probably gets her hair pee (I do this between her normal full baths). We snuggle with her as well in bed and I like her cleaned at all times. I must say that I always get up about 12:30 - 1:00 am and put her in her crate. I guess I still have the feeling that either one of us can roll over and suffocate her while we sleep. Then I get up about 6 am to take her out to pee and we snuggle some more in bed with her until is time to get up and take a shower to go to work. Going back to the grooming, I cut a little bit of hair around the corner of her eyes (tear section), they say is good so she does not get hair poking her eyes, but I don't know if I like that cuz she always has hair sticking out no matter if I cut or not. I think if I let it grow right there (around the eyes), the hair will be long enough and won't bother her. I'm thinking of trying that. Does any one think it is good cutting their hair around the eyes? If so, can you give me some tips on how to do it the best? The only thing that kills me is trimming her nails. I sweat every time I do that. Every now and then I cut a little bit more of what I should that she then bleeds. Thank God I don't do that too often. I also take her to the vet to get the hair inside her ear plucked. They do that so quick that she doesn't even realized that something had happened. I've done this twice in 10 months, and I think she may be due for another one soon. But I will wait for her next Vet's check up. I don't want to ever shaver her totally, I love her long hair. When I take her for walks, she looks like she has a sexy maxi... I love it!! -Raiza Quote:

| To trim your little lovebug, I would recommend using a Remington Nose/Ear Hair Trimmer for men. The reason I suggest Remington, in particular, is because it has a few different blades that I find extremely useful when trimming your baby (I dont work for the company - hope this is OK to post!). I am able to use the "nose" attachment for her ears (inside and out),and the "neck" attachment for her behind and inner legs -- and this is with a safety so that she cannot be knicked. I have not yet clipped her little feet -- any suggestions?
