What should I do to get my baby back eating ? Also he's teething and his teeth hurt so bad when he bites how do I help with that? and what food boost his sugar level he's sugar is pretty low as well pic of him below at the vet last week |

| I just answered another thread just like this. Local honey, corn syrup, Nutrical rubbed on the gums will keep blood sugar up until you can get a syncopal puppy to the vet. Freeze wet wash clothes for your puppy to chew on until the ice thaws then be careful to replace. Don't let the icy or damp wash cloth be used by your little one as a bed/blanket or to sleep on or it will chill him so you hold the wash cloth while he is chewing - don't leave it in the crate/pen or on the floor with the little one and leave the room. I used to put my dog's kibble in a plastic bag and break it into smaller pieces with a hammer but wouldn't let any of the powdered kibble get into the bowl as the young puppy could suck that into his airway and even into his lungs, potentially causing aspiration pneumonia.

| Try soaking his kibble in water and heating it up some in the microwave until it smells really good(to him - not you!), then cool it and offer small portions at a time to him. A reluctant dog will often eat a tiny portion offered and turn up its nose if you offer them a whole bowl of food.

| I would suggest feeding him Bil Jac puppy food. Its a pretty good food, very limited ingredient list. I suggest it because of the size, shape, and consistency of the kibble. Its like small rabbit pellets instead of the normal round hard dog food bits. It breaks into itty bitty teeny tiny pieces as they chew it. Its not hard at all, you can break the pieces up with your fingers. Another good thing about it is you can put water with it and it will soak it up real fast and turn into soft food almost instantly. The kibble is super soft even without water though and perfect for tiny puppies and teething puppies. It's small enough for them to easily eat and soft enough where it wont hurt his tiny teeth and gums. It can even be used for nursing puppies to wean them onto food. thats how easy it is for puppies to chew. I attached 2 pictures of what the food actually looks like along with this link: Bil-JacŪ Small Breed Puppy Food | Dry Food | PetSmart It can be bought at petsmart and most other pet stores. If I were you, this is the food I would get right now. I know your little one will thank you ![]() Ingredients: Chicken, Chicken By-Products (organs only, source of arginine), Corn Meal, Chicken By-Product Meal, Dried Beet Pulp, Oatmeal, Whole Yams, Brewers Dried Yeast and Flaxseed |

| At this young age, I would be very hesitant to change his dog food from what he's been on. It can really mess up a young tummy to make a change this early w/out the close observation and approval of your vet. In time, you can change him by gradually adding in small portions of the new food to the old but at 8 weeks, I would be scared to change his food so young. I would check with the vet but likely you can find ways to make his old food more palatable and more enticing if you just bake it or soften/microwave it and so forth.
