okay so yesterday I was eating popeyes chicken and Miley was sitting there. I gave her a piece of the chicken and she LOVED it. I got her to sit and everything with just chicken! My question is is it okay for her to have chicken as a treat? She doesn't care for any other treats so its really hard to get her trained. I'm still going to try the chewy buddy biscuits as someone recommended as well as the fruitables but I was just curious to know if anyone else fed their dogs chicken?

Yep, boiled diced chicken...I also use little pieces of lamb for a special treat on occasion. I would NEVER feed her Popeye's though, greasy and very unhealthy for us and them!!!

plus the coating and marinade most likely contain onion and garlic which dogs cannot have. Never mind all of the grease

Yes I knew that was wrong but I wanted to see if she would eat chicken I won't do it again I promise and it was literally the tiniest bit! I will start making her boiled diced chicken! How long do you boil it for? After cooking is it something that can be reheated or is it a "one time" thing?

I bake 2 chicken breasts in my convection oven (toaster oven) for about 20 minutes ( until no longer pink)

Shred with a fork and put in a ziplock Baggie then pop the Baggie in the freezer. I remove what I need for a couple of days and put the Baggie back in the freezer.

Oh another good option

I have a convection oven so this would probably be easier for me since i'm challenged in the cooking department haha. Do you use the chicken as food or just a snack/treat?

I home cook and have a diet that was designed just for us at PetDiets - VNC putting pets' health first! by Dr Remillard. We add the required supplement www.balanceit.com.

Mine has developed a chicken allergy so we have now moved on to

I might need to start home cooking. Miley eats her Fromm but she doesn't go nearly as wild about it as she did with that chicken. She's eating her Fromm (puppy gold) now but she didn't eat much yesterday. I always get worried that she's starving but I know dogs won't starve themselves

It's a process that should be researched before starting. It gets old fast to have to prepare meals 2-3x a day. Add into that the expense of quality ingredients and supplements plus the recipe fee.....

But having said that I feel home cooking is the best option for us.

Depending on the weight of the chicken breast I boil slowly for about a half hour, you can cut it in half to check, I take out let cool, dice up and do like Lisa, put enough in a Tupperware container for few days put rest in ziplock in freezer.

You reminded me of Mini when I once ordered chicken fingers from the pizzeria and I went to throw a load of laundry in the dryer and she ate ALL 5 OF MY CHICKEN FINGERS that had hot sauce on them...good lord to this day I have no idea where she fit them in her body!

Try one of these with Miley. We serve all meals from the 2 we have.

I have the plastic twister (different than the video) and the bone. We love them both!!
