| Taste of the Wild Hi, I've been feeding my 3 1/2 year old Yorkie Taste of the Wild, High Praire Kibble. Wondering if others here feed it and if it is quality dog food? Thanks, Karel |

| I believe it is Made by Diamond which had a ton is issues with some of their plants recently leading to recalls. I feed mine FROMM Chicken a la Veg with Honest Kitchen Force as a topper. Feed what works best for you and your dog though

| Yes, Taste of the Wild is a Diamond brand. A lot of people stopped feeding it when they had that big recall. Some have started feeding it again though because they didn't find anything they liked better in that price range. A couple grain free foods the guy at the store I buy dog food from recommends that are in the same basic price range as TOTW are Horizon Pulsar and Hi-Tek Naturals. We are currently feeding the Pulsar kibble and supplementing it with a little frozen raw also. I rotate kibble frequently for variety though. I have also fed Fromm 4-Star Nutritionals (not the grain free formulas though) and had pretty good luck with it also. I tried one bag of the Hi-Tek but since I am not real sure about the quality of some ingredients I did not buy it again. They confirmed that some of the supplements in their food comes from Europe and Asia, but would not be specific. I hear that Horizon uses ingredients sourced in their region (made in Canada) and that they are a very good company. Their foods also have a very low glycemic index.

| I fed TOTW pacific stream for over two years. We landed up in the recall and had to do a quick switch. I have been feeding Earthborn Holistics, coastal catch. And have also tried Fromm grainfree, tunalini. I don't see much difference between the two so I guess we'll stick with the Earthborn, it is less than half the price! We all agree the three dogs seem to be losing the shine they had on the TOTW. |

| The recall was specific to two newly purchased factories. The majority of TOTW even recalled wasn't affected but they recalled ALL foods made in the two contaminated factories. We still suppliment a lil TOTW roasted wetlabds foul here CA was never affected.

| I still use the TOTW for my two. I tried switching to something different but they would not have it. They would pick the new kibble out and spit it out till they got all of TOTW out of their dish. Seems to work for them, as my two are so dang pickie. |

| Thanks for all the reply's. I had heard about the Diamond recall, but didn't know TOTW was part of that.I feed it to my 7 yr. old Maltese s**tzu and my 3 1/2 year old Yorkie. They seem to do well with it, however the size of the kibble seems large for the 4lb. Yorkie. I also tried the Blue Buffalo but they leave the Vitamins in there bowl or on the floor, so I went back to TOTW High Praire. |

| I was feeding my new puppy this too. I posted this week on this dog food brand because he really doesn't seem crazy about it. The breeder highly recommended it though.

| I switch between home cooking and TOTW. Although their food is manufactured at Diamond plants, TOTW is actually a small family owned business. My Lolliepop is doing fantastic on her diet - her coat is incredible so I think I'll stick with what I'm doing for now. Lollie also gets a daily supplement of Synergy and Smile (Mainly Dogs) |

| Taste of the wild was purchased by diamond before priduct of it began. Someone came up with concept was making it and Diamond purchased it, it was alwaus manufactered by Diamond. They removed the inventors information from tge TOTW page years ago. TOTW is now also made in large priduction plants as Diamond expanded over the years at one time it was made independantly.

Thank you ladies for the information. You are right and I am wrong as much as I hate it - I don't hate being wrong I hate it that TOTW IS a Diamond product. Not being one to take new information at face value I contacted TOTW both by email (waiting for a response) and by telephone. The phone rep told me that Taste of the Wild was the Diamond Dog Food grain free line. It is and always been a Diamond Dog Food product. When I told her that a field rep had told me that TOTW was owned by a small family business she affirmed that the information was correct. She told me that the Diamond Dog Food company was owned by a family in Missouri. I am somewhat pissed and confused. Lollie is doing fantastic on the food, but I have lost confidence in the prouct knowing that it is a "Diamond" food. I will copy and paste the email I receive back from the company when comes. | ||

| The rep must have been calling the Diamond production company a small family operation...true thay's how they started...years ago...then they incorporated...expanded and grew into the massive Diamond brand they are today. It was misleading to call them a small family company...SCJohnson started as a small family company...
