| New itty bitty Nature's Variety raw! I went to our pet store today to buy Toki some more raw chicken medallions and came across these new Instinct Raw Bites! These are so tiny! I got a 4 lb bag for 21.99 I love that you can measure this by the cup and that they will thaw soooo quickly! I had been just rounding up Toki's medallions in the mornings and adjusting her kibble amount in the evenings (I'm not going to cut a medallion in half). These would probably make good high-value treats too and be good for topping kibble. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know about this find! Keep an eye out for it if you're interested... I know sometimes the frozen portions for the premade raw can be more work to adjust for smaller dogs. I believe that they also had duck and beef(?...I don't remember exactly and can't find them on the NV website) in addition to the chicken. |

| Interesting. Thanks for the info. I am feeding the new Duck medallions and Duck patties. I don't like them because the blood drains so much. Yuck! I'll look for the little pieces next time I'm at the store.

| That looks like a good idea. I order my foods online many times and have not seen this smaller form of raw. A full medallion is too big for Gracie so these little bits would work out better for feeding her if I weigh out what she needs. I'll have to call the store I sometimes go to and see if they are stocking these. |

| We are finishing up a bag of the duck medallions that I got with a coupon and I was considering switching brands (I still will rotate) but this just caught my eye and I had to pick up a bag! |

| I just started trying out the raw medallions for my dogs to supplement their kibble diet. I thaw them and then chop them up real good before feeding them. I like that I know each medallion is an ounce so that way I know just how much they are getting. They LOVE it! The small pieces would be good too if you measure your dog's food and don't want to chop it up.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I picked up a bag yesterday, I have not opened it yet but I figure it will do great to mix with the kibble and easier than the medallions... hugs.. |

| I still chop up the medallions and smash them up pretty good since I'm mixing in her coconut oil and green beans (I also like to check for big chunks of sharp bits...cartilage? or bone maybe?) but I'm liking the convenience of these bites! I especially like the quick thaw time for when I forget to pull medallions the night before. Also they have more product info on the raw bites on their new Instinct website Instinct Raw Food for Dogs and Cats | Instinct Pet Food for Dogs and Cats |

| I am sooo excited to try them!! I use the medallions for Riley..... The store 1 block from my place sells the Nature's Variety and said they can order whatever I need from their Rep. I have tried the Organic Chicken and Rabbit..... Everything else, except the Bison has LAMB in it [the venison... the duck.....], and I'm trying to stay away from anything with LAMB in it just in case that is what Riley had a Bad reaction to in the Primal frozen raw..... |

Did Riley do okay on any other varieties of the Primal? Primal just sent me a stack of coupons so I was hoping to get other protein types for variety.

Yes, there is cartilage and sometimes fat that I take out. Have never found bone. I have used Stella & Chewy's and Primal and some smaller companies. From what I have seen of Instinct it is pretty much like the others except it is not grass fed meat like others. I prefer to buy from companies that only use products that come from this country or Canada. I know some don't trust Instinct but I haven't read anything bad about it as yet. |

I just feel like if I knowingly feed Riley something with Lamb in it, and he has an even worse reaction, I would be sooo upset with myself. I am hearing More and More about dogs who are allergic to Lamb. At one time it was a rare protein that people used for pups who had allergies.... it was in a limited lamb and rice type of meal. They are now finding that a lot of pups are really allergic to lamb. I Loooove Primal!!! I'm Totally Bummed..... because for some reason I think Riley is just a little sensitive to Primal... I have heard that some dogs are a little more sensitive to Primal..... I traded the bag of Primal Lamb for a bag of Primal Chicken and his ears were a teeny bit red off and on..... but this is during when he was having a reaction to all of the grains in the FROMM Chicken A La Veg and Pork & Applesauce. So I basically stopped everything and put him back on his Acana/Pacifica kibble until he got the all clear.... That is when I started incorporating the NV Raw back in.... He really thrives on the Acana one meal and the NV raw the other meal. I Love how NV is 95% meat and 5% veggies.. Riley really Loves it. I hope I can get those small bites.

| Does anyone know the origin of the duck that they use? I've read that the rabbit comes from China, so I won't buy that one. (Raw rabbit only, the rabbit used from kibble supposedly doesn't come from China). As far as I know, the lamb that they use comes from New Zealand and the others (chicken, bison, venison, beef) come from the US. Since the duck is a new protein, I haven't seen where they buy it from.
