| Just want to add one little thing here. I just started home cooking for my girls. The home cook recipe is not something that is just thrown together and should come from a nutritionist. Also, the meals I am making are being put together by using accurate measurements (to the gram) and a supplement is also included to ensure they get the proper vitamins and such. I think there is much more to it at first than people realize. After a while, I think it will be a piece of cake. I notice that you are using percentages. Based on my recipe they seemed a little high. Please make sure that you are giving the proper amounts and all the necessary ingredients.

I think critical and logical thinking is a good idea. My critical and logical thinking was to defer the critical and logical thinking to someone with a DVM, PhD and board certification in nutrition. No matter how much reading I do, I will never have the lifetime of experience and knowledge of these people in this area without a major change in career. As for financial gain, I actually find the services to be too cheap, and I think I should pay her more for saving my Daisy's life. She doesn't even charge me for all the annoying emails I send either about Daisy and the boys.

Could also be someone fed their dogs something they shouldn't have and they didn't know it. Maybe a neighbor threw something, not so good, over the fence for them, maybe a family member or friend gave them something they thought would be ok. You just never know. Even chickens you buy in the stores are full of fat due to what they are fed to fatten them super fast for selling. Home cooked meals are still the healthiest and safest way to feed your babies. However, if you have really large dogs, that would be quite expensive but adding some "real" food to their kibble would be better than kibble alone.
