| PetArmor Flea & Tick Has anyone heard anything about PetArmor, the generic version of Frontline being advertised/sold by WalMart? It claims to be the same formula as Frontline, but at half the cost. I would be all about switching to a more affordable brand, but I would want to be sure that it's safe first. |

| I saw the advertisement on TV yesterday. I wonder if it is exactly the same? It scares me to try something you can purchase at Walmart. Our Walmart is selling the frontline now too.

| I saw this on TV as well. My opinion only there is no way in heck I would use it. There is no way it can be the same ingred as Frontline. I just don't trust WalMart or Sam's for that matter on this issue. Wal Mart at one time wanted to get into the Pet Health thing along the lines of what Petsmart does with Banefield. Sorry nope not for me.

| I would only ever use anything like that from my vet... I know of dogs who reacted badly to the cheaper stuff and sadly died from it. Too big of a risk for me to chance knowing that, just to save a few dollars. I'd swap out my steak dinners for spaghetti to make up the difference before I would take a chance on flea products... Another way to save money: I use Revolution, and I asked my vet to prescribe the 85-130 lb size, and she figured out the doses for me to use on my 3 cats and 4 dogs. I bought a special vial to store leftovers in online, and just measure out individual doses for everyone once a month. One 6 month package was $109.00, and I have enough to treat my household for 2 years. It prevents Heartworm too, so I save there by only having to use one product for HW, fleas, ticks, and mites.

| No way would I use it on my pets- just like that stuff Banfield sells, no way! I don't like using these chemicals anyway, so I only use ones sold by and recommended by the vet.

I use a generic brand of heartworm medicine, it's supposed to be just like Heartguard, BUT I get it from a vet.... it's called Iverhart. I wouldn't trust Walmart.

OK, thanks! This is how I am with Frontline (last year anyways). I would still find a few. But Jackson got Lymes last year so I think I'm going to stick with K9 Advantix for the summer (am always looking for other options though!) While on the Advantix last summer, he did not have one tick in 4 months.

| We were on k9 advantix but we are trying Fronline Plus. We have cats also and I had been told that the Frontline Plus was cat friendly in case the cats touched the spots where I put the meds on the dogs. We live in FL so we fight it all most of the year but from now till October it is bad. I do not see ticks much at all but fleas drive me nuts. We have a pest services for our house and yard too so that helps. I really wish they would invent one that was long lasting but that was a pill. A Frontline Plus/K9 Advantix kind of alternative. The topical gets in the way of my loving them for a day almost.

That was my thought as well. Sam's Choice (tm) is great for cheap cola, but I would be leery of trying it out on my dog. | |

| My aunt called me all excited when she saw the comercial. I don't trust it at all. Even IF it is the same ingredients, are they going to 110% guarantee to be the right amounts/doses. IMO when you're talking about putting chemicals on your dog, there's no taking chances. Pet stuff just isn't regulated enough before it's allowed to hit the shelves for me to feel confident in a generic before extensive teasting and trials.

| I too was wondering about his product. We use something called Vectra, vet recommened it for Foxy. When I had Roxy we tried Comfortis, and Frontline and neither seemed to work very well..

| I would NOT use any product sold/made by Walmart. Alot of thier products are not made in the USA so guidelines are not the same.
