Great info!! Thanks for sharing! I am thinking about using acv and distilled water in a spray bottle to help with itching after baths. He may be sensitive to Mink Sheen, although he has used it before.

Apple Cider Vinegar is great for many, many things. You can buy it very cheap at your local grocery store!

Except for it to work properly, you need to buy the organic that contains" the mother". That increases the price point a little but it's still affordable.

We buy Bragg organic, raw and unfiltered at the health food store...DH drinks two ounces in water every day. It is supposed to have lots of health benefits. It runs around $20.00 for a gallon.

That is what we use as well. I don't buy it by the gallon tho.

I'm gonna resurrect an old thread... While I was at the grocery store the other day, I saw ACV and decided to buy a bottle after reading good things about it here. I made sure it said all natural and no where on the bottle does it say pasturized, so hope I got some that is the right kind. Anyway, I took a 2 liter bottle of water and mixed 2-3 tsp as a start and filled Huey's bowl. He started licking at the water as I poured it and took a nice big drink once the bowl was full! I can't believe how much he likes it! I tasted his water to see the difference, and honestly, I don't have enough in it that I can tell the difference, but he drank even more after he saw mama trying his water. (I later realized I could have tried some from the bottle instead of sticking my finger in his water bowl, but oh well...:) I'm hoping this helps with tear stains-which I have been unable to get rid of- and I will do my whatever it takes to keep his teeth healthy without him having to have a dental anytime soon. He was also treated recently for a I UTI, so maybe this will prevent any recurrence. I will update if and when I see any improvements.

I'm so glad you resurrected this thread! I'm on my way to Whole Foods now to grab a bottle. I have a blonde Morkie who has terrible tear stains & I've tried EVERYTHING! Hoping the ACV will help. The added benefits are are great bonus!

Ok, I said I would update on how the ACV seemed to be working out. I can already see a pronounced difference in eye goobers. Here are 2 pics, both taken before a bath. One before ACV, one after using it for just a little over a week. Note the decrease in the eye goobers!

Did you use ACV from the grocery store or buy the raw unfiltered? I bought some from the grocery store but it's not raw and unfiltered. I can sure see a difference in eye boogers.

I bought grocery store "all natural" by White House. I looked to see if it was pasturized and it didnt say it was, but it doesnt say anything about filtered, either, but since it isnt cloudy, I assume it is. I am putting a couple of teaspoons in a 2L bottle of water and using that for his drinking water, so it doesnt seem to take much. He seems to like the taste, too.

OK, thanks for the info. I also keep my water in the frig. Do you keep your water in the frig or just room temperatuare?

FYI, you can find Heinz brand ACV, with "the mother", at Walmart.
