| Donating YT 500 Club Member | So I bought the bragg brand of ACV at Whole Foods. Does a Tsp a day added to her food sound like to much? She weighs 5.13

| Hello just be careful I know that when I was on an apple cider vinegar diet I discovered that the acid that apple cider vinegar contains wears away the enamel on your teeth, as does any acidic food or drink. It is recommended that you drink the apple cider vinegar over a short period of time, instead of a long period of time. I used to drink it thru a straw and rinsed my mouth out afterwards. I am not sure how it would effect a dog's teeth but because they have so many dental issues I would be careful. |

I actually went to the Bragg website and she recommended to give a tsp for small dogs and a tbsp for medium to large dogs. Bragg Live Foods, Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar, Bragg Liquid Aminos,Systemic Enzymes, Bragg Live Organic Food Products, Patricia Bragg, Paul Bragg, Bragg Organic Olive Oil, Bragg Salad Dressings, Bragg Seasonings, Bragg Health Products I am going with a 1/4 tsp once a day. And have been since I started it. I can already see the difference in her! She has a VERY touchy tummy and her poop is the best it has ever been, her eyes seem less runny as well! I am thrilled already with the results. I don't think I will be upping the amount anytime soon. Since she has an ULTRA senstive stomach I actually think a tsp is too much. Also, If I can already see a difference I don't feel there is a need to mess with what is working. I also add it to her food rather then her water. On Bragg's website it was actually recommended to give it that way instead of adding it to their water, if they will tolerate it. I just mix it in with a little wet food since it is such a small amount and she doesn't even know its there

| I didn't know any of this! Layla has really bad tear stains, and haaaates me trying to brush her teeth, so this would be great if it could help loosen some tarter and I could get brushing done a little more easily!

I just bought a set of measuring cups and measuring spoons from the dollar store. I would even start with 1/8 of tsp and thats almost nothing, And work your way up. I like to know exactly how much they are getting so if for some reason I need to adjust it.

What also helps me with tear stains, I actually saw this tip from someone else.. that their vet told them. I dip a cotton ball in warm water and put a TINY drop of Baby wash.. (I use Johnson and Johnson) and wipe the corner of her eyes out. Then I use another cotton ball that is just wet and wipe again to make sure it clean and all the soap is off.. I do this morning and night and her face is really starting to look up.

| I've never read about the benefits ACV can have on a dog -- thanks for the info! I definitely want to try this, especially if it helps with tear stains. |

| wow... thank you all for the great information! I am ordering today and will start asap. I have a white shih tuz who has terrible tear stains. I have been using bottled filter water and that help but they are still there. Also he has itchy skin and I have adjusted his diet and shampoo and added omega 3 -- improvment but I still hope to help them some more. Thanks so much!!!!!
