NONE i do not diagnose just give them the info to go to a specialist and ask questions but you seem to think that is diagnosing and since i cannot do spinal taps and mri over here at my home i cannot diagnose them. Isn't that how you diagnose a dog through blood work, mri, xray, spinal tap, urine, fecal. None of that going on over here so hate to disappoint you Just someone reading the signs the owner posted using her brain having read alot on this breed and maltese breed and trying to help a pet owner get to the right specialist but others want to interfere with that thus hurting the dog not helping the dog and owner and i wonder why? I also wonder why someone puts others down for wanting to learn and help?

Sadly ann because I care about dogs and people so i put up with it for that reason only and I know how owners feel with dogs with health issues. No good deed goes unpunished sadly

here is exactly why I do it ann see this poor girl died of a simple obstruction and look what they put this dog through. How much did this vet bill cost? Why did this dog have to die with a team of vets handling this case? I bet she trusted her vets 100% no questions asked just wanted them to save her little dog. This dog and owner suffered for a month. Why did it take a month for an xray? and why all these invasive tests done on this poor dog without ruling the simple things first like an obstruction?

I do not think this was a coincidence this post came up today either.

She died of lead poisoning, not an obstruction. Apparently she was showing symptoms OTHER than an obstruction. But, I guess you would have known what to do better than the vets.

It is a terrible case...apparently she ended up with breathing problems and that is why an xray was done. Just a tragic story .. not what I would think was the fault of anyone. But...hey what do I know?

LJ are you not reading the whole thing AGAIN?

My Holly died today from lead poisoning. She was 6 months old. She has been in and out of the vet for over a month. At first they thought she had liver shunts, then encephalitis from toxoplamosis or neospora, then she got pneumonia and THEN on a chest x-ray the vet finally saw a metallic object, a lead craft weight. She endured a spinal tap, a brochoscopy and endoscopy. She had had lead poisoning all this time. Today her breathing became so irregular the vet called us in. We had been visiting twice a day. She was having seizures. We just didnt know what to do. Then she had another seizure while we were holding her and she stopped breathing. The vet gave her an injection and then she was gone. Oh how I loved her. Oh how I will miss her. So sad....So sad.

ALSO check this one out - neurological signs are rare and how many this past two weeks now?

Actually, I am not the one who skims posts. I read every word and stand by what I said.

WHERE do you see the symptoms that this dog had that indicated an obstruction??? I have not see that. She said the dog died of lead poisoning.

I would suggest you ask her the presenting symptoms. My guess is it was nothing that would indicate a chest xray which WAS done once there were symptoms indicating it.

And I will NOT be posting on here again tonight. I am not going to read the kind of stuff you posted last night yet again.

You don't like for anyone to disagree with you. I don't know what to tell you.

I am not here to debate with you. I simply stated what I believe.

lol you just cannot accept that a VET would screw up can you lol you are funny - ok let me break it down for you

why did they do an endoscopy and brochoscopy - do ya think the dog was VOMITTING or choking? There is the sign for me no need for op to explain further - WHY WAS AN XRAY NOT DONE before all these invasive procedures. It was in there a MONTH and why she died of lead poisoning LJ. She is a tiny dog and was her ALT HIGH from toxins and why they ran BATS for liver -hmmmmm another sign

LJ THE VETS SCREWED UP FACE IT - wake up and realize medical professionals are not GOD they make mistakes and it costs us our pets and our lives so stop telling people not to educate themselves and just listen to their vets already or more dogs are going to die

Please, please, please just stop! Please? I have the greatest of admiration and respect for both of you. Just agree to disagree and stop attacking each other.

You both do tremendous work to help dogs in your own unique ways. Don't let this personality conflict continue to escalate. What will happen eventually is that one or both of you will feel the need to leave YT. If that happens, what then? I'll tell you. YORKIETALK WILL LOSE!! WE WILL ALL LOSE! DOGS WILL LOSE! (Yes, I'm yelling!)

We need you both here!! DON"T DO THIS!

Just stop....go relax....start a new day tomorrow.

Thanks Judy as I believe you are correct BOTH of us are needed here. LJ has helped me with my dogs and i appreciate her for that BIG TIME. I just wish there was the same mutual respect back here as we can all state our opinions nicely and move on and not attack one another. Pet owners can get both perspectives as we both have a different one and they can make their decision on which way they are most comfortable with. Neither is right and neither is wrong just different. I think it is great LJ has a GREAT VET. Some on here are not so lucky and I want her to realize this and start helping people and focus on that ONLY like I am trying to do as well. I respect hearing her point of view when she says it nicely as i know she is knowledgeable. I like knowledgeable people as we can all learn from each other but I am knowledgeable as well so stop treating me like I am an idiot because I am not and will not tolerate this nonsense anymore. She wants me kicked off here and to shut my mouth about what i know and I will not see dogs die because I know something just to avoid questioning a vet as i could never live with myself if I did that - once you know better you do better and you pay it forward to help other people not keep your mouth shut and say trust your vet when you know it could hurt that dog. There is nothing wrong with telling people that does not sound right so please ask your vet about it or here is some info on what it could be so ask your vet about it.
