| ![]() I did for many years without any ill effects. The law here is every 3 years, so that is what I do now.

| ![]() FL state law only requires rabies every three years. Your county/city is the one that is shortening the allowed time. |

| ![]() I Knew I had to do a rabies for corky, The others I felt were a waste of money IMHO. But I did it because I had NO idea what shots he did have. and I live in a rural area, and there are some foxes, and other wild canine around here. I got the same line from the vet, "with out shots I MIGHT not be able to have him groomed" and He will not be allowed in a hospital IF he got sick" This with the hard press to buy their health plan. |

| ![]() For those that have their babies in doggy daycare, can a pup be in doggy daycare without all his shots? Kaji will be starting soon, and the first 2 things they asked were was he neutered and was he up to date on all his shots.

| ![]() Requirements may vary from daycare to daycare, or state to state. I would check with Kaji's daycare.

| ![]() I would check with the day care that you will be using. In general, it seems that they require up to date DHPP, rabies, and bordetella. |

| ![]() I agree about the topic of over vaccinating and would like to share my story for those who don't know which route to go. My Teddy was just about 5 (now he'll be 7 in September) when i noticed he was having seziuers. He was very tiny and didn't weight much he was actually very skinny. I thought oh maybe because he's a tiny yorkie? He was never one to run around and be crazy like most yorkies. So after i discovered the seziures i went crazy and brought him to my vet than the Guelph Animal Hospital in Ontario. They checked my Teddy from inside out for liver shunts etc. All we found was a tiny bladder stone. Poor guy was so weak and stressed after leaving him for a few days at the hospital. I wanted to get to the bottom of this. After months of research and reading a few good dog books on seizures and holistic vets i decided to put Teddy on Healthy Paws raw food even when my vet recommended some science diet garbage with no proteins just fillers and unhealthy ingredients. My vet insisted that if we went through with the operation for the bladder stone removal ($2000.00) after spending $3000.00 on previous vet bills and Guelph Animal Hospital, Teddy would be fine, but something told me not to do it because he is too weak right now. Instead, i found a great holistic vet in Toronto, who also wrote one of the books i read and after seeing Dr. Paul McCutcheon, East York Animal Clinic in Toronto, we decided NO MORE Vaccines for Teddy, he was being give a rabbies shot every year..which is wayy took much..even so he developed tiny bumps under the skin after the first few and my old vet insisted we try the other side of his body the following year and yup he got more bumps and they continued this for a number of years. Long story short my new vet and i decided to check Teddy for heart worm, his immunity each year and rabbies shot every 3 years or so if needed. I have to point out once i stopped the vaccines and detoxed teddy's tiny body with raw food, probitics and holistic remedy to clean his liver and kidneys, Teddy now has put on more weight and is running around like a mad man. The best part is NO MORE SEZIURES!!!!!! Quote:

| ![]() I had checked different boarding facilities, dog walkers, and grooming facilities- many required a bunch of different vaccines that I wasn't comfortable giving, so I just kept looking. For example, the current groomer I uses only requires the dogs to have rabies up to date (which is three years here). The same with the sitter I use. I know some places will also accept titers now- so its worth asking about. If someone wants to give yearly shots or whatever- that is their personal choice- but I don't think someone should give a bunch of stuff they aren't comfortable with just to take the dog to a daycare/ groomer/ boarding facility.

| ![]() I'd keep looking. It's possible that I'd give a young dog DHPP yearly so they could go to daycare if they loved it. I think there will be facilities though that accept it every three years, or titers, or a letter from your vet stating that it is their medical opinion to do them less often. Ellie's vet has had success doing this for some clients. There are some vaccines I would not consider giving just for a groomer or whatever. Those would include lyme's, corona, giardia, and lepto. Those should only be given if they have to be and some not at all. When a boarding facility or groomer tries to play vet and give all these requirements, I would walk away.

| ![]() For Therapy Dogs and Service Dogs in some states yearly rabies is required or they cannot do their job (s). I have been getting titers and having the vet write me a letter that states she is healthy with no problems, diseases or contagion. With the Rabies and that letter I have managed to travel and go everywhere with my Yorkie. |

| ![]() please read my thread Polo was fine before he got his Vaccinations in January now at the moment he is in Icu were they monitor him three times every hour they said he might have Gme. He was very healthy before the vaccinations and now he can't stand go to the bathroom can only eat and drink by hand and if you put him down he starts rolling. I hope with what has happened to Polo people will be more aware of vaccination your pet before it is to late. I told the vet I didn't want the shots and she said oh no the are completely safe I had an uneasy feeling about Polo's shots I wish I would of said no. Please pray for healing with Polo http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...ant-stand.html

| ![]() You are living our worst nightmare and we are sending strong best wishes and prayers your way. Please keep us posted. Are they telling you it is something that was not associated with the vaccinations? |
