				 | I also take all my litters to the vet to have the dew claws done... I have a hard enough time picking up after the poo and such.. my vet is fairly inexpensive and honestly after going through the torment with Zoe..I'd hate to send my puppies out without them done.

				 | Stormy doesn't have dewclaws, but my bull terrier still does, I was a bit ticked when I saw she had them still I will have to talk with the vet about them but my fiancee isn't planning on spaying her any time soon, he is looking into breeding her. |

				 | I agree there are those that just don't have the heart, inclination to do this. And I agree if a puppy is past the age where pain is greater then a vet should be called upon to do the job. However, if a person wants to learn and is taught by a breeder that has been doing it for awhile and has learned from a vet, then they should have to option of doing so. The knowledge and skill of a breeder doing this, does away with exposing the pups to heaven knows what at the vets, as well as chilling the pups at such a tender age.

				 | i agree and if you are a breeder you need to be prepared to pay for the parts that comes with it..like tails docking and dew claw removal, at the appropriate time |

				 | Are you saying that a vet should be paid to do this? I'll have to tell those long time well known reputable breeder/exhibitor breeders that have been doing it for decades that they start taking their pups to the vets for tail docking and dew claw removal.

				 | im saying that if you cant do it, take it to a professional. and im saying if you are going to be a breeder then you need to understand that you have to put money in to..i would think you would agree with that |

some do it them selves and some have the vet do it. Vet are trained professional that provide medical procedure to pets. i would perfer someone to know what they are doing when cutting off body parts | |

I agree that if you're breeding and yes, selling puppies what you make on the sale of your pups should go back into the care and welfare of the pups. In addition, be prepared if anything should genetically life threatenig should pop up with one of those pups to reimburse the money to the new owners to assist them in paying for medical bills for that pup. I agree there are those that just don't have the heart, inclination to do this. And I agree if a puppy is past the age where pain is greater then a vet should be called upon to do the job.
