| How much is too much nutrical??? My 11 1/2 week old Jax is 1.01 pound and he is not eating well....a tiny amount of kibble and boiled chicken. He had a terrible bout of hypoglycemia 1 week ago and since then his appetite is getting better but still not great. He was having diarrhea so my vet told me to continue boiled chicken and nutrical until he was better then we would slowly try to get him to eat more kibble. I have been so nervous about him having another episode so I have been getting up every 3 hours to feed him and give him a dollop of nutrical. Is this too much? I feel like he is eating all of the time plus I am not getting any sleep I love this baby and I don't want anything to happen to him so I will do whatever it takes. He is eating tiny amounts of boiled chicken and nutrical every 2.5-3 hours. And some kibble during the day when he wants to play with it His stool is firm now. He is playful, active, happy, not acting sick at all. Is this okay???? Anyone please respond and give me advice. Also how much should a little one like this urinate? He pees all of the time! He does drink really well but geez! I know his bladder is super-tiny. Is this normal? Thanks, Tamra.

| Ask your vet, they told you to add nutrical to his diet, so they would know.

| Nutrical I would ask the vet about the nutrical, but my little baby pees alot too. I find it very strange. She just turned 4 months and seems to pee all the time. She has a runny stool and we found out she had giardia and another parasite...ringworm too. The medications she takes makes her runny too, so you can never be too sure if she's gotten rid of the parasites. Giardia doesn't show up in every stool sample so the vet can't be sure either. I have to keep taking samples in. Let me know what you find out about the constant peeing thing. My baby has gotten better and is almost potty trained, but still pees alot. Good luck. |

| The vet said I could give nutrical every 2 hours and that it could even keep him alive for at least a month without eating! I trust my vet completely but I have read on here that the nutrical spikes his sugar and then it crashes it down. I guess if you give it every two hours then is should be okay. Jax is eating now so my new question is does he still need nutrical with every meal?? I hate calling my vet all of the time like a paranoid mom so if anyone has any suggestions...that would be great. Before Jax wasn't eating well but now he eats like a little piggy every 2.5-3 hours. I am soooo happy! But still scared so that is why I give him a lick of nutrical too. Jax uses his puppy pads to pee so I guess its okay if he does it alot. I know if he only weighs one pound then his bladder is teeny tiny too. Thanks in advance!

| I would continue with the nutrical for a while. At least a few days, just to be safe. I'm glad he is eating better, sometimes the nutrical can stimulate there appetite. |

| I would do exactly what your vet suggests. I know when I first brought home my yorkie puppy last month, it was a challenge to get her to eat. I had to hold her food bowl and water bowl for her to eat and drink. I was also giving her Nutrical several times a day as I was told to do. Now that she is 16 weeks old, she is eating and drinking on her own. I have cut back on the Nutrical. I also make sure there is food and water available for her to eat and drink thru out the day. |

| Too much nutrical can cause diarrhea & believed to be a contributor to diabetes. If he's eating well now, I think you can taper off the nutrical. Check w/your vet to be sure. 11.5 month old puppy will urinate every 3-4 hours & as he gets older, he'll be able to hold it for longer. For older dogs, frequent urination is one of the signs of diabetes or uti.
