| Canned food, vrs , kibble. Specificlly , By Nature. This brand first is rated on the Super prem dog food ana. report on dry foods is listed as a 4 . I have been free feeding Suzi it for several months. Iv'e also been giving her the canned version that is rated as a 6 , on the list. She had been shaved down a month ago, and I felt like she could put on a lb . Now, I give her at least one meal a day of this high protein canned food. IF I give her more a day, is this ok? What is the difference of canned vrs kibble? AND the high protein? vrs a lesser protein in her kibble? Suzi enjoys the canned a lot more then the kibble . Would It be better to mix the two? or to continue free feeding the kibble and give her the canned one or two times a feeding? I've noticed she has not eating as much kibble now that she is getting the canned . How is the canned going to affect her teeth? Here are the Canned ingredents: ORGANIC TURKEY, SWEET POTATO & PEAS organic turkey, natural well water, organic sweet potato, organic peas, organic guar gum, choline chloride, vitamin supplements..... No corn , no Wheat, no soy crude protein min-8.0% crude fat- min -5.0% crude fiber max-1.5% moisture max-78.0% Calcium min- 0.35% Here is anther one Turkey, turkey Broth,Bacon,Turkey liver,Guar Gum, Cassia Gum, Carrageenan, salt, minerals, iron, vitamins, no corn, no wheat, no soy Turkey & BACON crude protein min-10% crude fat min- 8% crude fiber max- 1.5% moisture max- 78%

| Sorry I can't help you out much. But-I do give mine Wellness kibble and they free feed t/o the day. Once a day-usually in morning I will give them canned-Wellness, Evanger's. I am not an ingredient guru-but they do look good to me. And not real sure on the high protein either. Some say it is no problem and some say otherwise. Hoepfully someone will see this and be able to help you out more...

| I don't know much about canned vs. kibs either.. I do, although, feed Hiro a couple tablespoons of canned food with his kibs in the morning. I give him the two tablespoons and an 8th of a cup of kibs. I pack the canned on the bottom of the dish and sprinkle the kibble on top. This way he has to go through the kibs to get at the canned stuff lol At night I give him just over a quarter cup of kibs decorated with a little bit of Parmesan cheese to make sure he gobbles it all down. I decided to feed him a little canned because it's some variety and he really enjoys the canned. I alternate between Brandon Farms and Newman's Own canned. (I lucked out and found these kinds at the grocery store since we don't have a small pet store in town anymore) They both have pretty decent ingredients but say that they shouldn't be fed as the sole diet. The ingredients you listed look similar to the ingredients in the Brandon Farms food I use. I would just make sure that you're not going over the regular amount of food you normally feed just because it's canned. That's why I cut down the kibble amount I give Hiro with the canned. I don't want him to get fat! I don't know if this helped, but there ya go!

| I would not give the turkey and bacon canned because it is way too high in fat (36%) in my opinion. I see no problem feeding mostly or all canned. Canned affecting teeth isn't realy backed by good science. Some owners do report better teeth on kibble though. Whatever you use, her teeth need to be brushed. Ellie eats homecooked (all wet) and her teeth are okay. Most vets have a problem with all canned though. High protein food is a major area of debate. It has never been shown to cause kidney problems but not all dogs seem to do well on it. It may bbe that high protein foods also have a high fat content. I personally prefer moderate protein foods and lower fat foods.
