I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Interesting thread, Joey had watery eyes as a pup, when I switched to distilled water, his eyes cleared up, and every now and again I would try regular water and the tearing returned, and I'd switch back and they would clear up. Finally he outgrew the problem, and he drinks regular water with no tearing. With the tearing he experienced there was no gunk, or brown stuff or what you might call boogers, it was just wet in that area. Now two years, have passed, and no tearing, no boogers nothing. I finally decide to try another food, because Joey's food, Royal Canin, has high corn content, and people convinced me potatoes are better. I switched to Blue Wilderness, I went slowly, and after two days he was only eating half and half, but I noticed his eyes were really bad, not just watering but gunky, so much gunk I had to take a damp cloth to get it out. This continued, for a week until I decided to stop the new food. His eyes looked better the next day, there was no gunk, but they are watery and haven't completely dried up. Now I'm mad at myself for switching the food, I don't know if there is a correlation between the new food and the gunk since the eyes haven't cleared completely.

| The bottle itself says decreases drainage, effectively removes set in tears stains, and a few other things. So far with Cookie on her second day using it she has less tears coming out and less tear stains. Its not completely gone yet so it will probably take some time to fully clear up but its a big improvement from before. |

It is also said to be good for humans as well and has lots of healing properties. I have started using it today also. You can find the info about it and other home remedies on earthclinic.com. For tear staining you can use ditilled water.I noticed they were not tearing in 2 days.I used the walmart brand for babies. And its cheap with no chemicals. Hope this helps

| carmen, i could kiss you right now LOL i used this two nights so far (since i just got it wednesday) ... well the day after i used it the first time, i could actually SEE a difference in miss buffey and bentleys eye areas!!! bentley has pretty bad tear stains and buffey messes with her hair so much lately, it is poking in her eyes and she is getting tear stains too i know it will take a while to clear up bentleys stains but there is already a marked improvement and i am thrilled! i am just trying to figure out the best way to apply it...i used a cotton ball the first night but feel it wasted too much product...might get those cosmetic cotton rounds at the drugstore this weekend thanks so much for the rec - so far we LOVE this product i could even tell bentley had less eye boogers yesterday!
